Carl Peterson

I remember a whole line of NFL players that Peterson pissed off when he was their GM.

Just his personality alone should clearly show how poorly suited he would be for that job. The NFL has changed, his style didn't work well before now it would be a COMPLETE DISASTER

Herm did an excellent job for us, brought KC to the playoffs for only the 2nd time in 9 years then Peterson stripped all the talent to rebuild.

In 48 games as HC in the reg season, the QB starts look like this:

Damon Huard 21
Tyler Thigpen 11
Brodie Croyle 8
Trent Green 8

Vince Lombardi wouldn't have won either

39-41 while in NY, with a 2-3 playoff record. "Overall, Edward's tenure as head coach of the Jets was marred by chronic clock management problems, an ultra-conservative "play not to lose" mentality, and a lack of any discernable defensive philosophy, despite Edwards' supposed expertise in the Cover 2 defense."

15-33 while in KC. The QB play while terrible, was not the case the whole time while he was in KC. While writing this, I sent a text to a few of my friends in KC. And I got the 'LOL' response back from them, once they seen the name Herm. Junc, I understand what your trying to do here. But a career loser at HC, no matter the reasons you may think justify your POV. Bares absolutely no resemblance to reality or history. Peterson gave Herm a strong roster post Vermeil, and the roster WAS NOT stripped until his 3rd and final season.

Herm Edwards earned his spot on TV and as a motivational speaker. But as a coach who has a over all losing record....can only be defended by someone who would do the same for Sanchez.

He earned the moniker "King Carl" while in KC for a reason.

who cares what some nitwit in Wikipedia has to say? he made the playoffs 3 of 5 years, the 2 years he missed his QB was out most of the year. Every week we see clock management goofs in this league, that stuff is overblown.

In 2002 he won the AFC East becoming the only team to do so in a year Brady was primary starter for NE.

he took over a Jet team that made 1 postseason in 9 years and led us to 3 in 5.
he took over a KC team that made 1 postseason in 9 years and immediately led them to postseason before they started rebuilding.

he certainly wasn't a great coach but he was a good one and did a very good job for us.

I think Peterson would be a mistake. And not because of anything football related. Business and friendship don't always blend and Ross would then be stuck in the "Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman" dilemma should Peterson underperform.

Peterson would be a lateral move. There's a reason why nobody in KC was sad to see him leave.

Carl stepping in might actually right the ship.. dude bleeds football.. most of those KC pro bowlers were his picks

I was ready to blast you on this one. Then, I realized you were right. Only 3 of their pro bowlers are from the post Peterson era. The knock on him though is that he never seemed to get his 1st round draft picks signed with some huge drama.

whats the story with this guy i feel like no one wants him here in MIA. i dont know too much about him

KC didn't start rebuilding until his 3rd year. You can try to spin it, but that is a fact.

Who was the previous coach to lead KC to a playoff appearance prior to Herm's arrival? That would be the guy who he took over for. KC record the year before Herm took the job was 10-6. Herm once in KC went 9-7 his first year, then down hill there after. You can try to re write history. But after his first year...he then went 4-12 which led to the rebuild process after that season, then in his 3rd and final season...the team won all of 2 games. Leading to his and King Carls ouster. FACT. Not some nit wit from wiki, but just good ole plain history.

Having a losing over all record may be a very good job for the you as a fan in NY. But most places, don't find that acceptable. I guess that is what separates my expectations and yours. Its also why you are one of the few who stand by Sanchita, while the rest of the world makes a mockery of the guy.

*2002 AFC East race was a 3 way tie for first place.

year 2 Damon Huard started 10 games, Brodie Croyle started 6. Larry Johnson played 8 games and averaged 3.5 YPC

the 10-6 record was deceptive as they won a meaningless week 17 game when they were out of the race.

yeah the guy before him made ONE postseason but not in 3 years and for the franchise it was one time in 9 years.

The nitwit part was about his Jets tenure, I really don't care what he did in KC. I know he took over a tea, that had missed 2 straight postseasons and had missed 8 of 9 overall and he led us to 3 in his first 4 years including a division title.

Yep, I wish we had a Ryan Tannehill who can't make the playoffs or an Andy Dalton who can't win a playoff game both w/ more weapons than mark ever had(Miami w/ equal to what mark had at one point). yeah, winning 4 playoff games sucks, I would much rather win 3 from 1995-2013 than 4 since 2009.

The Jets were 2002 AFC East Champs crushing NE in week 16 then humiliating 12-3 GB in week 17. NE wouldn't lose another home game until 2005 and this was the ONLY time a Brady led Pats team didn't win the division.
