I would hate to be Ronnie Brown right now. With so many people questioning his ability after 2 weeks, he needs to make something happen this week against Carolina. However, Carolina looks like they have a very legit run defense.

Look how two pretty good RBs did against the Panthers defense thus far.

WK 1: McAllister - 26 rushes, 64 yards, 2.4 yards per rush, 2 TD.
WK 2: Dillion - 14 rushes, 36 yards, 2.5 yards per rush, 0 TD.

They are giving up about 50 yards rushing a game to running backs. (Saints QB rushed for 32 yards against them.)

Looks like we are heading into another defensive battle this week. I think it is very important for Ronnie to hit the LOS hard and the OL needs to do a better job opening holes, or it will be a long day for Gus and our passing game.

Bro do you think a bigger back like Chatman may have better luck?

I think Morris would have more success. He is used to seeing clogged running lanes and bounces the plays outside quicker than Ronnie does or Chatman probably would.

Either way, its very hard for a RB to get a rhythm behind a OL that doesn't open holes consistently. Unless the guy is a Barry Sanders or scat back, just looking to make a home run play.

Ronnie is basically the same size as Deuce, and Chatman is only about 10 lbs heavier. He may not have the offense down yet though. I thought he'd be active against NY, but wasn't.

That said, I dont think Chatman would make that much of a difference, but we will definitely have to pass to set up the run.

btw, your avatar has returned! :)

Thanks Bro, indeed it has. Maybe this game needs constant change of pace at running back to keep the defense on there toes. Like hit Ronnie in there, then give Morris a shot, and create problems with personnel if we can, and lots of different formations as well.
