I actually started to sour on Carpenter last season. He can hit the amazing 50+ field goal, but he seems to have games where he just flat out sucks. Tonight was one of those games, but I wouldn't bring in competition based on the first preseason game, I would bring in competition because he does have games where he is not in it.

Dude, he missed 2 50+yard field goals. Carpenter is one of the best Kickers in the game. How anyone could complain is beyond me when most teams couldn't even choose to go for a 50+ yd Fg because their kickers can't make it that far out even in practice.

I remember reading he missed some FG in training camp. Thought we should've signed someone to compete in the off season.
Don't know about a new kicker but we need to bring someone in to push him at least. He is getting paid a lot for a kicker.

This goes back to last year, he is inconsistent. Act now when there might be some good kickers out there still, he is going to cost us alot of games.
