Woah woah woah, hold on there. First, signing Carr and giving up 3 picks (plus Booker and Culpepper) is not a good idea. We need too much help to give up that many picks. We'd need more than a 2nd rounder this year and a 3rd next year to move up 8 spots in round 1, even WITH players. Plus, Culpepper has been damaged goods for 2 years now and didn't exactly do anything last season to make teams think "oh, he's on the block? We HAVE to get him!" I just don't think swapping 1sts and giving our 2nd this year and 3rd next year is even close to enough, and I wouldn't give up any more than that to move up, even if it is Calvin Johnson (I wouldn't even do it for Quinn, who I want more than CJ).

3, This is a waste, because David Carr and Cleo Lemon won't be mentoring anyone, they still need mentoring themselves, so who would teach the 3rd-5th rounder?

They got Ahman Green, but they probably will eventually look for a future RB . . . I don't think it will be AP, but if he is there at 10, they may take a look. Hopefully we will have traded our pick to Green Bay, picked up there second and they get AP.

I think this is what Mueller would like to have happen agent. And I would be very happy with that. KC wanted a fifth for Green and Muell says no way and then Carr comes on the scene and now we are interested in Carr maybe to get Minny to react, hopefully, but to have Carr in the end would no be a bad thing at all to me but DC would be gone regardless.

Yea, or if Oakland takes CJ and the Lions and Browns bite on Culpepper and Carr. That just leaves, potentiall, the Vikings, in which we could easily trade up to #6 for only our #60 pick (in addition to the 1st round swap) to not even give the Vikings a chance to take Quinn. I'm honestly not worried about Oakland and Quinn at all, it's just Detroit and Cleveland, so if they take Culpepper and Carr, or Russell and Carr, or some combo out of those 3, then we are golden.

I just don't see these scenarios as realistic at all. I think we sign Carr as a backup, keep Culpepper, and trade DOWN. We are not moving up for Calvin Johnson. This draft has too much talent in Rounds 2 and 3 for us to be giving up picks. If anything, we should be trying to get another pick in one of those rounds.

Scratch option 1. I know CJ is awesome but we are not in a position to give up 3 picks and 2 players for him. If he was what was missing to take us to the big dance yes. But giving up 5 possible starters is downright ridicilous. We're in the position we're in because previous regimes traded away draft picks for 1 person. 1 person does not make a team. 1, 2a, and Booker should be starters, DC may make a comeback and a 3rd round pick should at least be contributor if not a starter. Superbowl teams are build through smart aquisitions not banking on 1 player to make or brake you.

This draft has too much talent in Rounds 2 and 3 for us to be giving up picks. If anything, we should be trying to get another pick in one of those rounds.

I agree about needing more first day picks. The more prospects we can flood our training camp with the better.

DC, IMO, is untradeable. Until he plays again in a real game and plays well, he's just another former great player who may never again be what he once was. Best landing place for him would be as a backup in St. Louis (Linehan) so he can continue to rehab and attempt a comeback in 2008. Can't see Oakland giving much up since they need a definite starter not a "maybe."
