Just saw this picture on nj.com....and Carroo looks massive next to McCourty. Looks more than a 15lb difference to me, maybe it's just the camera angle.

Going to be fun watching these two former Rutgers guys go at it.

He sure does look massive don't think its just the camera angle!

I think part of it is def the angle, the other part is 15 lbs of mostly muscle is a lot. Might not sound like a lot but it def is.

I've been a big fan of Carroo, really happy we drafted him.

I compare him to the WR version of Charles Clay.

Where Cla was listed as a Tight End, nut he wasn't your typical TE. His style and body type was different from what any other TE offers. Just has a very odd variety set of skills.

Carroo is similar, difference is he lines up as a WR. But when he has the ball he looks like a running back. When he's blocking downfield he looks like a tight end. Carroo is going to clear out some defenders for Drake receiving out of the backfield. Mark my words, your going to see some big plays because of Carroos blocking.

He likens himself to Anquan Boldin. If he ends up being anything close to Boldin or Hines Ward, that's a really useful type of WR to have.

Physical makeup is one half of it, physicality and mentality is the other. We'll see if he has the latter when the pads come on.

I knew he was built, but he looks like a linebacker in that pic lol guy is definitely talented as a wr though

Caroo is just a shade under 6 foot tall and weighs 211 pounds. Devin McCourty is 5'10 and a half and weighs in the 195 pound range.

:idk:

I like the way our wrs can block downfield

As an Ohio state fan the last couple years have been eye opening for how important wr blocking downfield is for the run game. I loved zeke and think he's gonna be a good nfl back, but there was definitely a lot of times he had an amazing wr block to thank for his 80 yard td run. I like what we have for blocking there now as well.

I agree, Carroo is definitely going to help us in the run game. I'm glad we replaced Matthews with another physical WR.

Even his hands look huge in this pick (same for his head/arms/shoulders/etc.)...he's a big body and will be hard to bring down. Landry, Carroo, Stills, Parker seems to be a good 4 WR set, at least on paper.

Carroo had a nose for the end zone in college too, let's hope that translates to the NFL. I don't think he'll get much run early on in the season though.

He'll be a NFL starter soon. If not this year, then next year.

He is going to be special, and if you consider the receiver Miami has in front of him, teams are going to find it hard to cover him when in a 3 receiver set.

As a Rutgers fan, he's the real deal. Dont get it twisted DVP is who defenses will fear, but good luck stopping Landry and Caroo when DVP has the D's attention. He may need some time to acclimate but is the definition of a football player.

He's training with Jarvis before camp starts, couldnt have heard better news. Jarvis knows so he's taking him under his wing. Man the ceiling of our WR core..... hope the OL shows up this year.
