carrucci on Feeley/frerrote

i think we all can be sure, that this year, after TC, the guy who starts week 1, barring injury, earned it

I agree that the balance of power may have swung to the AFCW with SD, KC, Oak, and the Bronco's showing a lot of improving in the offseason. On the QB thing for Miami, I think AJ is still in the driver's seat , base on age, and that's the only advantage he has right now.

Saban will want to know if AJ has the goods or not asap.So I am sure he will be given every chance to prove himself.

Having said that I think Gus has the better chance of starting the season. Why ? Because AJ is a notoriously poor practice player and he is learning yet another new system. He is not a fast learner from what we have seen so far.

IMO His chance will come if Gus is ineffective at the beggining of the season or if he gets injured.

All we want to see if a honest and fair competition for the starting QB, I will stand behind whoever they feel gives this team the best opportunity to win football games. That's one of the biggest pluses I see with coach Saban and this coaching staff, no one is PROMISED a position, there will be competition all over the field, and that will only make each player better...

Bad practice player or not, if AJ cannot beat out Frerrote for the starting job, he has no business being a starter in the NFL... I dont think any1 would be happy or secure announcing a guy like Frerrote as their entrenched starter (no offense to him)... he's more suited as a smart security blanket #2 QB... Hence, imo if feeley cant beat out an old guy like Frerrote, despite his advantage in Linehan's system, i say with 99% probability we can forget about Feeley as a successful starter in this league. just my thoughts~

Also, if Frerotte does win the starting job, you can almost guarantee that we will be drafting a QB in round 1 next year.

I don't really care who starts as long as they perform. I think it'll be Feeley personally.

I think either way they pick a QB in the first round next year. Even if Feeley starts he's going to have to be effective...not just ok. I think Saban works some majic on the offense next year like he did the defense this year. QB...then WR . Well...here's hopin'. Cheers.
