The thinking is that Belichick traded Cassel to the Chiefs at a discount as a favor to his old pal Pioli. At least three people have outright accused Belichick of it, or at least hinted at it: Jay Mariotti compares the trade to Spygate and thinks Roger Goodell needs to take action, Albert Breer talks about the head-scratching going on around the league, and Tim Graham calls the trade "inexplicable."

I thought the trade was fair. Vrabel's past his prime, and who knows if Cassel was just a one-year wonder? The Patriots get 1 of 4 draft picks in the first two rounds, and the chiefs have a qb they can hopefully trust. I say it worked out for both teams.

I think the trade is fine....funny how the article states the bucs were willing to deal the #12 pick.

If belicheat wants to give up all his players for nothing, then by all means, let him do so.

The article is wrong the buc`s offer was 1st and 3 rd for cutler and the bronco`s offerred their second for cassell.

There is no reason why the Commissioner would need to to step in. The two sides agreed on a trade and just because they balked at higher value doesn't mean they did anything wrong.

It is good as a Dolphins fan that the Patriots traded those two for peanuts.

the first thing I said when this deal happened was WOW! They put him up for a 1st and 3rd and took a 2nd an oh....wait! here take my Vrabel while your at it! Cmon people. Who in there right mind could not see past this Bull Ship!

It's not about what the two teams got, it's about BB doing something...ONCE AGAIN, that is questionable. Sorry but who in their right mind would rather have a second round pick over a first round? No one, but no one finds this to be a questionable? Unbelieveable!

I don't think they broke any rules, I just thought it was funny they unloaded both of those players for peanuts.
