That's how a friend of mine characterized DW's reaction to McMichael's sideline rant in Cincinnati. Anybody feel similarly?

I think DW should've said something like, "if we had more of that kind of spirit on the field, you'd see a different team out there." That way you don't squelch the aggressiveness, you just hint that you want more of it on the field.

You have to ask yourself, too, if DW is simply uncomfortable with strong, aggressive personalities in his players. Daryl Gardener was another.

If the reason Gardener is off the team is because of DW's comfort level with players with "strong, aggressive personalities", then Shanahan must be in DW's boat on that one. I think after seeing what Gardener pulled last year w/ the Broncos we all know why he was cut.

Hey shou, what up?? i posted a similar thread half hour ago, titled 'just when you thought dave found his balls..." As for your buddy's description, 100% perfectly stated. But that's wanny's way isn't it. That's why he got rid of dan too. Not because he thought Dan didn't have another year (or one better than huard or Jay), but because he saw dan and JJ always at odds, and Dave didn't have the fortitude to deal with Dan's passion.

Yeah but he was a 1st-time offender with us. He had a track record in Denver. You might wanna work with a guy that good when he's still just a 1st-time offender.

Great point -- I don't think DW can handle much stuff like that. He's kinda the opposite of Parcells in that regard.

Thats why he got rid of Westhoff..cause he didn't agree with Dave and voiced his opinion. And Trestman, Dave prohibits him from talking to the media. It's like Stuart Smiley or Smalley (which ever it is) is our coach...lol

Randy - We need to talk.

Sure Coach what's up?

I think that you showed to much anger towards our o-line at the game on Sunday Night. Remember - they are still learning Randy. Besdies, you wouldn't want to make them mad - they are bigger than you.

Suuuure Coach!

Randy?

Yea Coach?

Can I give you a hug? I just want you to like me.

No Thanks Coach - Bye!

As long as McMike is screaming at those most responsible, the o-line, I hope he keeps it up. He ought give Feeley and even Lamar Gordon a pass, though, as no one could perform behind the kind of line that we saw on Sunday night.

The O-line needed chewing out by someone for their piss poor performance. If DW and his staff aren't getting the O-line ready I think Randy had every right to respond as he did. The only thing better to have done would be to walk up and say 'Hey Coach Dave, what did the five fingers say to the face?'

LOL:roflmao::roflmao:
Oh man, that's a picture perfect description of dave. I can just picture his job interview for D-line coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders next year:

"Well what makes you think that you could handle the gruelling 8-game schedule coaching a bunch of lineman that couldn't get selected as 7th rounders or signed as undrafted FA in the NFL?"

dave: "well, sir I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and gosh darnnit people like me."

"Who likes you? Got any references?"

Dave: Call this guy Jay. He likes me. Which reminds me: Do you guys need a back-up QB too?"
