What about this guy? He stepped up last year and proved he was pro bowl worthy.....Input??

Isn't he a restricted free agent? Would probably take a 1st to get him. I would rather sign Arrington to an inflated contract.

Yep would mean losing our 16th overall pick, if Indy didnt match the offer sheet. Which is too much for a guy who only really fits the tampa/dungy 2 system.

Exactly. Personally I don't like the guy anyway, clealy unproven. Only one good year, and even this year was overrated.

Too small for Saban's liking I think

6'0", 230 lbs. I think he is capable of putting on the few extra pounds to make it in this system. I just don't think he is talented enough. He only went to the pro-bowl because of his 5 interceptions and 2 TDs. Playing in a Cover-2 those happen quite a bit, see Derrick Brooks. Dungy produces LBs like Shanahan produces RBs.

honestly he's really really really good but he's no way indy gives him up

Maybe you should research more because he has had two good years and has been in league 3 years. The year before he had 128 tackles total. I don't know how this year was overrated he was all over the place and made alot of big plays. Not bad at all for a converted safety. If this guy had perfromed like this as a dolphin we would be proclaiming him the next coming.

i'd be down for getting him if the price isnt too high (i.e. first round pick). he's definitely a great LB, my only question is he an ILB or OLB?

Here's a simple ryhme for Cato and our interest in him:
Small and speed, not what we need.

Lol, everything's not about height and weight. Have you seen his body frame? He's a twig compared to Zach. His success this past season was more because of the system than his pure talent. He doesn't play with a lot of leverage either. SO, he doesn't fit a Saban mold LB, at all.

Zach semi-fits Saban's desired size in a LB; but what keeps him playing at such a high level in our system, or better yet any, is his instincts, mechanics, strength, fire and work ethic.

You beat me to the stats. Don't ignore the 5 ints last year, now. You're right of course; if June was a Dolphin, there would be a lot of posters heralding him as a part of the "best LB unit in the NFL". Myself, I wouldn't complain if he was a Fin-but of course, it's not happening.

He weighs like 215. No way he'd stand up to a guard in a 3-4.
