CB Jason Marshall Jr Highlights

He has the tools, just not fully developed yet. Seen him out of position at times or get caught guessing the wrong routes.

When he is on his man though, the kid makes plays. Has a knack for playing the ball and getting his hands on it. ( Just not good at keeping them on it, seen him drop some easy picks). Can be a PBU machine with good coaching.

I also think he gets a little handsy at times. Hopefully they can fix that.

I like the pick but wouldnt expect much this year. I think he will flash in otas and preseason. Next year will be his year
Thanks, good feedback! Appreciated!

The "highlight" film on him was a lot less impressive than I'd have hoped it would be.
There was a whole 3 minutes and 44 seconds there. That’s a few games for most prospects not years like this guy.

I had glossed over him pre-draft...but after watching highlights and game replays, he certainly plays alot like Ramsey. He's not the athlete nor does he carry the same size, but he blitzed a lot like him, can stop mid blitz and affect the pass, and he plays tight coverage and gets a lot of pass breakups.

It seems like many others took no notice of actually watching this guy play.

When the pick came in I said we could've gotten him in the 6th and was a bit bummed by the pic...but after watching him, I'm excited to see what he can do during preseason.

As a gator fan, just want to add this kid suffered from some very inept defensive coaching for a couple of years. The defense just had the bulb light up mid-way through last year. Explains some of his (lack of) stats.
Let's hope that works in Miami's favor. Because Weaver and his staff made chicken salad out of scrubs last season. He had Storm Duck and McMorris (late season) playing significant snaps and still had the secondary highly ranked. He even turned Kohou's career around with a stellar rebound year after he was lost in 2023.

I think Weaver was not 100% sure how to use Chop towards start the season. We had Phillips and still expected Chubb to potentially return. When we started to scheme Chop into 1v1 vs RTs without help our pressure rate sky rocketed. It was around the same time our secondary really started to improve.

If you can stop the run and generate pressure on passing downs it makes life very easy for DBs. I think with Chubb, Phillips, Chop, Sieler, Grant, and Phillips 2 we have a much better defensive front than last year. I am less worried about our DBs than other people here.
