You read that, combined with what we saw in Saban's post game address in the locker room, and you want to believe that this team will be focused on the task at hand next week. In the past....and with most teams....you generally expect a letdown after such an emotional and dominating win. Especially considering how badly the Jets were beaten on the road. You feel like things have to even out a little bit.
But I tell ya, I'm betting that Saban keeps this team focused. That they come out next week and there isn't a letdown. Sure, we might lose. But I don't think it's going to be the terrible follow-up we're used to seeing.
Remember, we made a lot of mistakes today. We committed nine(?) STUPID penalties in the first half. We turned it over three times in our own territory. Ronnie missed some holes. The receivers dropped some passes.
Granted, a lot of this stuff got cleaned up at halftime, which is a GREAT sign. But the point is, everything didn't go our way. We had to overcome a lot of things to dominate the way we did. So you don't get the feeling that we played way over our heads.
I had a strong feeling about this game. I felt like we had a good chance of winning. But I was shocked at how we dominated.
It's a different era boys and girls. The NFL has been put on notice.
