In light of the many threads started here in reference to this subject matter, I thought I'd create a poll thread to illustrate who are the most liked, knowledgable or just plain hated.

This is just CBS. FOX doesn't do that many AFC games so I thought a network exclusive would be the choice. We can do a FOX poll later if there is enough interest.

Anyone wanna play?

Not all do the games but comments are certainly welcome. Please feel free to elaborate.

Sorry. Forgot to add the list to the poll. Perhaps a mod will edit and adjust as needed. :)

Most knowlegable - Greg Gumble and Phil Simms
Most liked - Dick Enber and Greg Gumble
Most hated - Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon, Randy Cross, Dan Dierdorf and Dan Fouts. In no uncertain order but they all suck!

In the studio, the only one not a real fan of is Esiason. As far as the announcers go, I enjoy listening to: Criqui (I still remember the "hook and ladder" call), Enberg, Fouts, Gannon, Harlan, Johnson, Simms, Tasker and Wilcots.

I most like Don Crique out of that bunch. Enburgh is ok too.

The two I hate the most out of that bunch are Dan Dierdorf and Steve Tasker. They are awful.

I really like Ian Eagle and Gus Johnson as play-by-play announcers. They get really enthusiastic, which is great if your team does well. If they don't then it kinda sucks. As for the analysts, I like Rich Gannon even though I would say he's not the most knowledgeable.

well what i really hate, is when ppl talk about the dolphins and then quickly turn to the jets or the patriots... even the nfl 's own site got me frustrated, just watch the chiefs game highlights, at the end, Rich Eisen says:

"the dolphins win and hold their own (or something like that) , BUT THE PATRIOTS ARE 10-5 ! "

wtf rich, WTF, can't a dolphins win stick to a dolphins win and not be discredited because of a patriot win ? i could understand if New England would beat us in a tie breaker and win the division, but it's not even the case !!! it's really incredible and i can't take this **** anymore

so really, i can't stand ANY sports announcer or analyst... they all look at the dolphins like they were still 1-15, adam shefter is really good though, he's the only one i can listen to ... too sad he doesn't have a spot in the MNF or SNF crew, he clearly earns it

I'd have to say Gus Johnson for sure, followed by Dick Enberg. Phil Simms give great analysis when he's not at a Patriots, Colts, or Steelers game worshipping the QBs of those teams.

I really like Ian Eagle, Solomon Wilcots and Gus Johnson.. all very enthusicastic and passionate play-by-play callers.. and the whole CBS crew inside the studio is also great.. it's fun watching them and they usually have great conversations and make good points.. I always watch them before the game.. Imo they are waay better than ESPN or FOX..

My preferences:

1) Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon
2) Ian Eagle, Solomon Wilcots
3) Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker
4) Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
5) Dick Enberg, Randy Cross
6) Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf

You mean analysts? Solomon Wilcots and Gus Johnson make my ears bleed. They're passionate but the mindless dribble that come out of their mouths is ridiculous. I was watching the 4 pm game on Sunday and I believe Wilcots was one of the announcers. While I think Buffalo was about to score Wilcots added the great comment "this isn't good for Denver." That's the type of brilliance only Madden gives. Shannon Sharpe just doesn't talk well.

I like Simms and the number 1 CBS team. Still I think the best guys are Jaworski or Joe Buck. They're on ESPN and Fox though so it's a moot point.

I'm not certain why Jaws hasn't been given a better spot. I'm guessing ESPN is paying him big. He's intelligent, enthusiastic, and knows football.

It's strange that he's really just started broadcasting games in '07. I'll assume they've got him locked up. I hate the current format where the MNF game has lost prestige to the Sunday Night game. Tirico I think is pretty good also. Kornheiser finds away to bring a Brett Favre conversation into everygame.
