CBS Pregame Show - Dan Marino Predicts JETS to win AFC East???

Jets, Pats and Phish are all tied for first. Why not predict your team to go all the way?
Is it becuase he has had his hopes up and had them taken away from the Jets in the past and doesn't want to get his hopes up again?
Is he just trying to be humble?
Bill Cowher is still predicting the Steelers to win.

Just seemed weird to me that he would go that way. Maybe that's just the way that he felt.
 
Years of being the only one to pick us on Inside the NFL, and then being wrong most of the time, probably finally got to him.
 
Maybe he doesn't want to jinx us or go with the homer pick like Shanon always does for his Broncos.
 
He's trying not to be a homer. That's good, that means he actually deserves his job unlike most of the blowhards on TV. The odds are slightly against us because the game against the Jests is in NY. The Jests also were good enough to beat the Titans (though also bad enough to lose to the 9ers and were lucky to escape the Jills).
 
ya i realize he it seems like he picks the jets a lot to win games also. anyways, the jets r extremly lucky to have won that game. i dont understand wat dick jauron is doing. up 3 with under 2 to go, and im not sure how many timeouts the jets had but i think only 1, and instead of running the ball with lynch who after looking at his stats seemed to me that he was taring up the jets d the whole game, the idiot calls a pass play and lossman fumbles and the rest is history. that all happening while i was having a heartattack watching the dolphins game didnt make for the best few minutes in my life. anyway, it just sickens me how the jets always get these extremly lucky plays to go there way to give them the wins, i rlly cant wait for 2 weeks till we pound brett favre into the ground and give jet fans a heartbreaking defeat which will last for lifetime.
 
I think dan is being force to snub the dolphins because the dolphins are still the only team not to have any former players in the media . Dan needs to stand up and not let the media turn him into another jets lover whiche he is quickly turning into . the bottom line is that Miami needs to stand up the the media for once then Miami would get more respect.
 
A couple of weeks ago every TV commentator were calling the Jests the best team in football, now what?

Did he think the Phins would be 9-7 at worst? No and everyone else who thought they'd suck, NONE of their opinions should count the rest of the year. They thought Miami would stink and they were wrong.

Marino is surely allowed to say the Jets will win the division. He gets paid to talk about sports. Good for him
 
Well most people have the jets wining the division and remember if he picks the fins to win the division NFL fans will call him a homer and not a real analyst.
 
If Dan picked Miami he would be called a homer....you go ahead and pick thos Jets Dan...we still love you and you get a free pass this time because of the fake spike game.

dude gets paid to analyze not be a homer
 
It doesn't matter to me.. Has no bearing on the game. Players and coaches aren't going home to go watch Dan Marino say who he thinks is going to win the division. To be honest, i doubt players even watch espn, nfl network, nfl live, or any of that. They maybe check nfl.com to see who won, who didn't... But come on. The players aren't going to dwell on what any analysist thinks, even if he was the best Qb in the NFL.
