CBS Sportsline ranking NFL O-lines

Man, I really get the feeling this time next offseason, we're going to be looking at this "Our biggest addition was OL coach Houck" line and saying, what were we thinking? The players still play the game, and we didn't do jack to change the line. If anything, the biggest boost we're going to get is from sheer continuity.

I doubt that will be the case.

Our biggest boost to the OL will be Saban, Linehan and Houck. Saban because he brings leadership and an attacking philosophy to the offense. Houck because he will have the rest of the offense ready and this will of course help the OL. Houck because he actually teaches the OL and the OL respects him.

I do not blame them for rating our OL as 32nd. After all we were the worst OL in the NFL last year. They have to go out there and prove there an improved unit.

I think the biggest boost to the OL will be Ronnie Brown (and Ricky if he is even half the player he used to be. If he is just half the player he used to be he is at least 10 times the player that Sammy Morris is).

Not having a runningback made them look worse then they were. Not saying they are even good. Just saying a good runningback does wonders to a line.

Exactly what I was thinking. The biggest addition to our o-line wasn't a player, it was a coach.

I'll third that! That was a huge addition. It will take time to feel the full value of a coach but some improvement should be evident from day 1. For example, maybe everyone will know what play we are doing on each play, unlike last year!

32. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins offensive line was plain awful last season, so the team added former Lions RT Stocker McDougle to start and LG Damion Cook and rookie RT Anthony Alabi. Still, this unit has a lot to prove in both the run and pass aspects of the offense and will further diminish the limited value of QBs A.J. Feeley and Gus Frerotte. Rookie RB Ronnie Brown would be more attractive with a better line, but he remains worth a third- or fourth-round choice.

Well what do you expect, that line was awful. They will be better though

Ive seen them (miami) rated at a C+ this year by other "experts" its all hogwash if you ask me...Ive seen Indys line ranked from number 1 to like number 25...
