CBS: Tony Dungy, Scott Pioli say Richie Incognito was off draft boards

Pioli beat on Incognito pretty hard, noting that if Incognito's a leader in your locker room then your locker room has a leadership problem. That's certainly a fair stance.

When Incognito was drafted in 2005, Pioli was with the Patriots. They've been known to take a gamble or two on players lacking in perfect personal history. That he would have such a strong opinion of Incognito tells you something.
The Colts felt the same way apparently. Dungy said on the Dan Patrick Show that Incognito was placed on Indy's "DNDC" list. What does that stand for?
"Do not draft because of character."

I look at Dungy as one smart man, his statement speaks volumes.

It also says a lot about some organizations. Some won't touch bad character guys with a 10 foot pole, and some have the win at all cost mentality, doesn't matter who the person is or what the character flaw may be.

Hindsight is 20/20 look you're not going to be able draft or have a team that doesn't have a few FA's with luggage. What was lacking here was leadership from his fellow Vets and Philbin. Look the army doesn't toss you if you got a few barbs sometimes they are useful, Incognito while a sorry sack of **** still is a decent guard above average, but when you have some like on your team squad etc. you monitor and isolate him. You make it known to him his hijinks aren't going to be allowed and you stay on him find out what he is up too, real leaders find a way. He gets too mouthy you isolate him, give him negative reenforcement, and when he learns to play correct you reward him but never under no circumstances should he have been allowed a position of leadership. This is failure from top on down.
