Maybe it's just me.....But, it seems like most of the catches that CC drops are when he tries those dive moves. You know what I mean, he'll be 2 or 3 yards away and instead of running over there, he tries to dive for it. He seems to miss a LOT of those. Most of those same passes, if he just turned and ran towards the ball they'd be catchable. Instead, he tries to dive for them and misses them in flight. Why does he insist on doing this?

Watching Chambers, he seems that he's at his best when either jumping up for the ball or being hit in stride. When he goes horizontal, his chances of coming up with the ball seem to plummet. Now, I know that we don't have a wowee QB slinging the rock, but it just looks like ta lot of the balls that he misses would be catchable if he just tried a different technique.

Let me know what you think.

I disagree. If he were to not dive for it and missed, wouldn't you be saying the opposite?

I think that to make those catches just requires a bit more concentration on Chamber's part. However it would help greatly if the QB would throw it in a more catchable ball.

Each case is different. In the last game, he had to dive to just touch the ball. He showed great effort to even get a finger on it...but, it's pretty dangerous to lay out like that over the middle of the field.

Those dive moves are classic on the sideline and in the back of the endzone. He likes a high pass so that he can stretch out and get it and tap the toes inside the line.

The QB's timing on some of those out of reach passes was still a beat too late. Gus needs to get his timing down with CC. It's not there yet.

I think its about time he starts earning his money. Yeah he's had some good games of late but when is he going to put an entire season together. He still drops to many balls. I think we should trade while he is still worth something.

I mentioned this in the VIP, I feel he often leaves his feet when he does not have to. The last game a couple of those I feel if he kept running he would have caught.

But He has stepped it up big time lately.

I can't tell if this is dripping with sarcasm or syrup.

I agree and disagree. Last week it felt like he wanted to make Sportscenter or something because every non-TD pass was a dive. However, I can remember a lot of those dive catches that generated big plays, like that amazing TD against Dallas two seasons ago or the one against the Patriots last season.

i totally agree with you.
many coaches or football experts will say " if you keep running and running hard you will make the catch without needing to jump or leap!!!"
i think , not in a bad way, that CC wants to make the highlite real every week.
just play the game and do what you do best!!!!
catch the dam ball!!!

agreed I thought I was getting ready to get hammered by my comment. But I see someone feels the same way.

I disagree 100%.. If it were not for the dive catches he would not have half the TD's that he has.

And if he had caught all the balls he had dropped he would have twice the amount that he has.

So...he's...breaking even???

I don't agree with all of this........Players dive for a freakin reason, and that reason is because they cannot get to the ball otherwise!!!!!! It's easy to just sit here at home, watch the game on TV and say........"Oh he could have caught that if he did this or this or didn't do this", but I have absolutely NO DOUBTS that these players know a hell of a lot more what they're doing than we ever will.
