Man i am sure glad we picked ronnie brown instead of benson.Just read Tha the probably won't sign anytime soon.It said his agent shipped 2 nice new cars from chicago back to houston. What is he wanting #4 money like phillip rivers got last year.He seems like a head case to me.I remeber before the draft we had a lot of people in here wanting to draft cedric.Looks like ronnie was the right choice.

Cedric Benson cried because 3 teams passed him up, yet you see what he is really worried about. He won't be getting the 57 mil, 6 year deal Smith got, he'll only get about half that; you can't even live off that type of money  .

It seems he doesnt want to play in Chi town no matter what he would make damn probably a business major with a big ego

Yeah, I was kinda torn between whether I wanted Cedric, who was a more proven runner, or Ronnie, who I had heard great things about but wasn't that familiar with. Benson is just making a joke of himself, because the Bears aren't desperate for him with Thomas Jones there. There's no way the Bears make a playoff run anyway without Grossman, even with him it was an uphill battle. If he holds out he entire season, he will behard pressed to find a team to give him any more money than the Bears have offered him, in fact I would expect it to be hugely lower.

I would have been a little disappointed if we drafted Benson. I thought all 3 backs would be good but Ronnie was definitely #1 on my list. The worse thing is Chicago talked to Benson's agent before the draft and said that they would not be giving Phillip Rivers type money iif they drafted him.

It also said they were offering fair money in between what braylon got with the 3rd and what williams got with the 5th.So i can't really understand what is going on.

He cried when he got drafted, he said he had gone through so much, put through so much, and was so happy to be drafted, especially at number 4. 17 million dollars guarenteed was offered. Caddy got 13.5, so that's 3.5 more for one slot. Just sign the deal.

proof that these guys are just PC on TV; that's why listening to interviews is usually a waste of time . . . you see what he's about now . . .

I was going to post the same thing earlier but I was sure that someone had talked about this already. I agree however, what a chump Benson is. He stated how grateful he was that the Bears drafted him and everything and now look at him. What a waste of talent.

I am so glad that Chicago wont give into his demands. Maybe something to come from more teams. I cant understand what this moron is thinking. He could be a millionaire right now instead he is unemployed. Hey Benson where else are gonna strike it rich like you already could have. Dumb greedy and selfish is the only way I can describe Benson.

cedric is ruining his career... he better produce or he'll just look greedy.

Why? Tomlinson didn't sign until like 24 hours before the game on Week 1 did he ruin his career? Emmitt didn't sign until the week of Week 1 I believe also.

This isnt big news, holdouts happen every year. He will sign before week 1 and be a productive player for Chicago. No big deal.

I live here in Illinois and it sounds like the Bears are resolved to go on without him. The dumb ******* sounds resolved to sit the year out and re-enter next year's draft. That is stupid. If he enters next year's draft, there is no way anyone will pick him as high as 4th. Sounds to me like he is not smart enough to realize his agent's advice is horrible.
