Listening to Cefalo on the radio replay on the highlights from the Saban show is really hard. It was always fun to hear Mad Dog Mandich, but Cefalo sounds like a pro wrestler or something. I'm glad I can't listen to the radio broadcast online anymore.

Mandich was good but I hated when he would do that "All right Miami" quote...

It made the hairs on my neck stand up. It was just plain wierd and he said it way to often. LOL

i love this all right miami quote, always meant that the fins were doing something postive. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Since I live in PA and do not have the NFL package I am forced to listen to the radio broadcast and I definitly miss mad dog. Cefalo is always calling the wrong player and being corrected by Rose. As much as I like sacks that grap a sack of burgers quote gets extremely annoying :fire::fire::fire:

He would do the alright thing too often but it was still a lot better than Cefalo, but then I've only heard the little sound bites from the highlights, maybe he's better if you hear the whole broadcast.

Mad Dog was color. Cefalo is play by play and a big step up over Howard ( ugh ) David. Joe Rose is O.K. , but I do miss Mad Dog/. I have listened to Fin radio for over 25 years and the best tandem was Zifer ( wrong spelling I'm certain ) and Mandich. They had chemistry. Howard ( who was with the Jets before ) would make anyone sound bad.

I dissagree. Cefalo is awful. Howard wasn't that great, but at least he sounded like a play by play guy. Cefalo sounds like they took some random guy off the street and made him do play by play. He is awful. I knew it from the start that it was a bad idea to give someone with no experience the job, but I had no idea he would be this bad. Almost unlistenable (if thats even a word).

Cefalo needs to set up the play better. The best play by play guys will make regular use of saying split backs or I-formation or whatever. Also basics like going left to right, or right to left, and what the wind conditions are. Stuff that allows fans to paint a mental picture. I guess it's too much to ask regarding personnel changes, especially on the line of scrimmage. Only the rarest announcers ever pick that up.

By biggest beef with Cefalo is he gives no immediate specifics regarding the length of the play. He'll say "Ricky off the right side and he picks up a few yards," then it turns out to be 7 or 8.

I like Joe Rose better than Mandich. Sorry, but that loudmouth homer style didn't equate to competent analysis. Rose needs to assert himself more and expand on his points, but the few times I've watched the game while listening to his color commentary at the same time he's dead on while picking up the basics of certain key matchups.

Manwich man sucked and so does cefalo. We traded 1 suck *** for another. No bid deal. At least cefalo does sound like a drunk screaming 12 year old.

I listened to the game on the radio this Sunday for the 1st time this season. I've been used to Mandich (who I happen to think is awesome), but since StreamTV has giving me the games on TV every Sunday I havn't had a chance to hear the new couple till this Sunday.

I didn't think it was all that good, and one of them kept getting factual stuff wrong and was corrected a few times. That was just stupid.

I couldn't agree more. Why is it that we never hear about the penalty flag until AFTER the 20 yd run every freaking time. It was so bad I actually changed to the Saints broadcast, the 1st time i've ever thought of doing so in about 25 years of being a die hard. He has to be the worst play by play guy i've ever heard.

The one great hope I have is that 790 goes out of business, which is a very real possibility. In all but I think 1 or 2 timeslots in the last ratings book, WQAM had like 2 or 3 times the number of listeners 790 did, and it's an even bigger multiple then that when people like Neil Rogers and Jim Mandich are on.

the sack of burgers thing is an ad for crystal burgers one of the sponsors... but i absolutely hate when cefalo says "he's got a receiver". and they talk to each other (joe rose and jim cefalo) not to us the audience... nothing like bill zimpfer and maddog they were the best tandem going.

true...and if they do i hope they (wqam get joe rose back for morning show as hank just isn't my morning cup of tea). funny stuff as bokamper always takes shots at "those jerks across the street" talking about 790.

wqam has best pre-game and post game show too!
last week with madog, big O, and bokamper was first time i listened to it all season as i had done 790 for pre/post but not anymore those 2 aspects of it stink.
