with the haynesworths and wilforks of the world. why is it we are not sitting on a 330-350 pound animal at center. satele does not seem geared for this line. so what im saying is if teams can find giants of this size and athleticism why shouldnt we find our own offensive line version. sorta our yang to there yen. the job of the nt is to occupy at least 2 lineman. if we had a center who would make this very unlikely that in itself would be worth 4 to 5 yards a pop. it would free the guards.

There is only one starting center in the NFL who is even 330 pounds and his team (Philadelphia Eagles) is not necessarily known as a great running team. Also of the 32 teams in the NFL only nine teams have a center that weighs over 310 pounds (Philadelphia has two). I think one of the reasons for this is that most offensive line coaches prefer centers who are more mobile so they can get to the second blocking level whether in the running or passing game.

It might also have something to do with stamina. The Haynesworths and Wilforks of the world have the luxury of coming out of the game after a few plays to rest whereas an offensive center does not.

As far as college prospects that may fit what I think you are suggesting is Alex Mack of California and Jonathan Lugis of Arkansas whom our QB coach is familiar with. Another player to look for is Alabama's Antoine Caldwell. Mississippi State's head coach and former Alabama player says Caldwell reminds him of Dwight Stephenson.

im confused why you want him replaced considering your name is studsatele. i was assured at the beginning of the season on here that Satele is a "franchise" center. lol, i disagreed. but what do i know..........
