Chad Henne Era OVER in Miami. Franchise QB #1 Priority

speshs love affair with andy dalton is a bit concerning...his upside is average nfl qb pretty much...at least from what i've seen...he's not good enough to get you over the hump either...well maybe his upside is that of a ryan fitzpatrick but at the end of the day unless you give that guy a balls to the wall elite defense you're not winning the super bowl with that level qb so you're just treading water

I think it's over. No way will he be here next year unless they decide to let him be a backup, which wouldn't bother me.

yeah. i was gonna reply to him but i dont really think he understands what we are talking about. he is the one using hyperbole speculating about this past qb class as being the best ever. he is the one comparing it to the marino, elway, big ben, rivers classes. cam is the only qb that has showed anything so far so to make that leap is kinda ridiculous.

im much more optimistic about next years draft class than last years

there's no easier way to become a year in and year out contender than with a franchise qb...get the franchise qb...all eyes should be on the prize right now that is andrew luck...just take it on the chin this year and look forward to the next decade plus of dolphins football with this guy the face of our franchise...lose em all...who cares...

3 years from now we'll all be laughing at the idea of wanting to win meaningless games instead of going all in on andrew luck...book it...

enough of the second tier qbs and the year in and year out mediocre results...you want to win consistently in this league get a franchise qb...end of story

Pretty much. Im tired of this franchise trying to address our qb position by trading for other teams backups, signing retreds or drafting 2nd tier talent. We need to draft an elite franchise quarterback prospect not some second or third round player. The type of elite prospect that doesnt last past the first few picks.

We need luck in the worst possible way.

you wanna know what else happens you land a quality person and player like andrew luck...the media which many think hate the dolphins and i personally could care less what they think instantly jumps on the luck bandwagon and this team...miami becomes a media darling over night...you wanna see the dolphins games on a more consistent national coverage prime time basis add an andrew luck...the officials will protect this kid like they do the peyton mannings and tom bradys...guaranteed...there won't be a single person associated with the league who doesn't find this kid to be as quality a person as there is in the league...

so many things change for our outlook if we land andrew luck...this is what we've all been waiting for since marino hung em up...land an andrew luck and good times great times are on the way people...

Cpt Obvious and his great writing. Now we all finally know that we need a QB. Thanks Armando, you are truly a genious.
The value in the article is that it says there are sources within the organization who have said the Chad Henne era is over.

And you suggested that Newton and others weren't worth drafting because they aren't playing up to Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees's standard. And yet im the one full of hyperbole. Right.

Not to mention that i think coaches will be lining up coach this team. You want Cowher, or chuckie or Fisher or whomever? Having Luck as your qb greatly enchances your chances of landing said coach

absolutely...there won't be a coach out there available who wouldn't want this kid as their meal ticket the next decade plus...guaranteed

anyways...today root for the colts cause kc's schedule is much easier than the colts and we need the colts to win some games...

I never said that and i think there lies the confusion. I would of loved to get Newton but i knew that was unrealistic. Personally I wanted Ponder. I believe he warranted that top pick. It seems that Ireland would of drafted him if he fell to us. I also believe that if Ireland wanted Ponder but failed to move up to get him when he had the chance to it was a huge blunder. Maybe he thought Ponder was going to fall. Maybe he tried to trade up but couldnt. But if Ireland had a chance to get him and failed to take the appropriate measures to nab him than it was a huge mistake.

However, I dont believe any of the qbs that were available to us when we selected warranted that pick. I dont believe that Dalton or Colin K. are that elite franchise type qb that will change this teams fortunes. We need those top qb prospects not the also rans. Honestly, looking back now im glad we didnt get Ponder or any other qb. Im much more enamored with the class coming out this year and the opportunity to select an elite qb prospect

i just don't see them winning too many games. maybe two. hope i'm wrong though. Seattle is another team that has me worried. they have looked pretty pathetic thus far.

KC I think is about to go on a mini-run. I don't think they're a threat for the #1 overall pick.

As for the Colts, they are a threat, so I agree with you. Let's root for them to get lucky. But the thing to hope for there is that Manning keeps improving apparently as much as he has. They're saying now he could (at least be available to) return late in the season. If he gets all the way back and the doctors sign off on it it's going to be hard for the Colts to take Luck. Manning is only 35 and could play another 5 years. The stars on that team are aging and they might want to make another good push as long as Freeney and Wayne and Bethea and those guys can still play.

I agree with greasy about Seattle. They're terrible and Pete Carroll is obviously not above cheating. Minnesota and Denver are another two teams bad enough to only win like four games.
