I encounter fan upon fan on this site who praise Chad Henne as being our next franchise QB. While I would wish the same for him and our franchise, I havn't seen anything special out of the guy. Not even a flash of greatness. While it is early on as he is entering his second year in the NFL, I believe that Chad Henne may not be what it seems most of us think he can be. Here are some key reasons why.

1. Everytime I've seen him play his passes are inaccurate.
2. Looks uncomfortable in the pocket.
3. As we've learned in the past, second round QB choices don't always work out
4. He has a cannon arm. IMO accurate qbs are a much better weapon.

Now with that said he does have a few things going for him as well.

1. Learning from Chad Pennington, HUGE help.
2. Getting to watch from the sideline.
3. Good Coaching staff.
4. Strong arm.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this post but I truly don't believe Henne is our future. To be perfectly honest, I think Pat White has a better chance of being our future than Henne does. Granted, I hope Henne can develop into a star QB. As some of you will point out, White was a second round pick just like Henne, but White is more accurate and from what I saw from his at WV he has more potential to be a star than Henne. Is it just me that isn't sold on Henne?

Flame away.

*This post dates back to before the season.... I bumped it to eat crow*

You aren't the only one but please...look at one of the dozen Henne threads that have been very active during the last couple of days. A lot of people, myself included, have put a lot of good debate into those threads and it's too much work to re-list it all.

Oh, sorry. I've been out of town with no internet for 2 weeks, so I missed all of that.

You aren't the only one. There's your answer. But no need to have this debate every other day. We all have our own observations and gut feelings about Pennington vs. Henne vs. White. The key is they're all Dolphins and hopefully they will all be successful.

Don't worry about it, we've all been there. I figured you weren't aware of the constant Henne debate going on here and I thought I'd direct you elsewhere.
And mostly because I agree with you and I didn't want you to miss out on what I've put in other threads. :chuckle:

I'm assuming your the one who gave me very positive to get it back up, so thanks. It amazing that some are so impatient that they can't read 5 more posts before jumping to conclusions.

I also gave you one little green bar  Hope that helps.

Until he starts a regular season game, any analysis of him is irrelevant.

What he has going for him is time, he'll have been in this offense for two season by the time he starts a game in Miami. He should be comfortable. He should be familiar with the players around him, and the speed of the game at an NFL level (because he's seen it in practice and pre-season). He's not going to come in rushed like John Beck, in an impossible situation. But at the same time any immediate success he has must be taken with a grain of salt. He's a young Quarterback, and he'll take time to pan out. The years of veteran QB play we've had have really skewered the expectations of this fan base.

The problem I'm having buying into all the Henne love around here is that so many of our fellow fans think he is already good enough to run our offense. Ex: "Marshall, Ginn, and Henne. We would be scary" Hell no we wouldn't be! We'd be a trainwreck. Henne is not ready and is quite aways away from it IMO, if of course, he even has what it takes.
