according to TSN www.tsn.ca Tony Sporano will take his time with all of his starting QB's and that Henne may actually be the starter this season.

Henne has been working with the first team offence. :hi5:

i'd prefer he didnt. honestly guys, this team probably wont be very good. why throw Henne to the dogs and potentially break the confidence of a young qb and high draft pick?

Only if you advocate starting Mccown because Beck is a second year player so its not like he is that much more advanced in the game. Let the best player at this point play and we have no clue who that is right now.

exactly.

It would be a big mistake. If Henne fails, then we would have to turn to 2 QB's whom have had an oppertunity to prove themselves, but hafven't been able to.

I would much rather look at Henne as the last resort.

Isn't it way too early to be making any presumptions as to who the starter will be at QB?

Run them all through the drills with the first team and field the best player who gives us the best opportunity to win.

WE won't know that until like August 25th!

Am I the only one that's getting sick of reading about who the "frontrunner" is? It seems to change daily. That alone should be a clue that NOBODY knows how this will turn out. Nonetheless, there will probably be 3 more threads today alone about how Beck is tearing it up or McCown took some snaps with the first team, etc. It's not even summer yet for crying out loud!

Hmm interesting, from his PC yesterday I certainly didn't get the impression Henne was going to be the starter at anytime. As a matter of fact, Parcells has said he likes a rookie QB to sit a year or two. Sporano being a Parcells guy, I can't see that philosophy changing.

Henne has just as good as a shot as Beck or McCown. If Henne is the best man, he will play.

hopefully, Henne comes in in the middle of the season and has a career like Dan Marinos. well, we can all hope anyways. ;)

So MCCown is the starter under that scenario since Beck has not sat long enough yet. I personally think its stupid to sit a qb at any age if he has proven he is the better qb.

well it sure seems like miami runs through qbs like a suv runs through gas.
we need to see if Beck can improve because he was handcuffed by idiot coaching and no help from the pathetic wr corp we had last year.
we need to give any qb a two year period before changing qbs for the 100 th time.

If any of you look at the discussion on the Sun Sentinal site Omar was asked how Henne has looked. His response was "he has looked OK, nothing special". Most reports are he is overthrowing WR's, holds the ball to long or throws an INT. Its still early into mini camps etc, but he will need to pick it up if he is going to beat out Beck and McCown.
