Chad Henne Starting - MY OPINION

I am starting to believe that Chad Henne should and will be the starting this season. The two WR additions give him additional targets downfield. Our offense was exposed against Baltimore during the playoffs. Pennington can not get the ball down field. Safety's can just sit on routes because they know the ball is not going pass 20 yards. I know Pennington really helped us last season, but we have to look at the how explosive our offense can be when we have the threat of one of our WR going for a 40 yard pass.

I am really happy about our draft. It help give our offense weapons to put points on the board. For the last couple of years once the team was down by 10 or the other team scored 21, we were out of it because our team couldn't score to keep up. I also remember has the great defense that didn't allow opponents more than 14, but we still lost because he could not get into the end zone. Pat White and two WR drafted gives us a chance to put up 7 instead of 3.

Why wouldnt he start?
 
I am not crazy about the draft, but I am coming around more and more. This draft solved issues like CB for the long haul, and I can see your point on this offense being built more for Henne in mind. They went for skill that can open up this offense and I am OK with that.
 
Did you miss it when Tony said Pennington would be the starter?

Theirs not even going to be a camp fight.It's Pennington job.
 
If he's not starting, we might as well trade him. It doesn't make any sense to keep Henne, if Pat White's the QB running the offense. Henne doesn't fit the wildcat system....

i wouldnt mind seeing us trade Chad Pennington for a 3rd round Draft pick next year and have Henne start i think he is ready to start and will be a very good QB for many years to come
 
i think the car is being built to henne's specifications, but pennington is going to drive it first. Pat White did play in a spread offense at WV so maybe this gives him a chance too.
 
Chad Pennington will start and Chad Henne will play at some point; CP likely won't make it through the entire season healthy again. Whether or not he remains the starter depends on how he performs. No need to rush him in, let him EARN it.

Although I do like the Pat White pick, he will never be an every down quarter back for us. Nice weapon though.

JMO, but Pennington can't stay healthy and has no strength in his arm. I wouldn't be surprised if Pennington is on the bench his year.
