Chad Henne vs. Ryan Tannehill: A Scary Thought?

Hm...wonder why never see threads like this for the flip side of things.

Example...

Marshall Faulk averaged 4.3 YPC in his career, now he's a hall of famer.

Lamar Miller averaging 4.6 YPC in his first 4 games of his second season, FUTURE HALL OF FAMER!

See how it works?
 
my conclusion is that some of you guys take statistical analysis WAY WAY out of proportion...pretty much in every thread
 
you'd think we were 0-4 or 1-3 with some of the stuff you get on here...we are 3-1 got a damn good shot to go into the bye at 4-1 with a buffalo team decimated by injuries and a conservative offense coming to miami after the bye...

not many teams will be able to expose our d like the saints did either...and frankly if we just rally to the football and tackle on 3rd and forevers in that game we get off the field...not to mention no cam wake...

well on our way to a winning season and gonna be if not in the playoffs in the hunt the rest of the way if we can keep our qb healthy...

i'll take it...
 
How many two minute drives did Hence complete in his career. They were always duds. I had No faith in him with the ball in his hands late.
Tannehill is a completely different story.

Tannehill has what 3-4 already and barely completed a seasons worth of games.

Where do you see that happening in this particular thread?

In the original post there is nothing but data. There is no analysis.
 
Ok...here's the final x-factor to add to your equation......half of your formula is based off a guy that
can't win the starting job at Jacksonville,who maybe the worst football team since Tampa Bay first
came into the league.

The same "eye test" was said to be "passed" by Chad Henne at the time.

What your statistics don't show is that Ryan Tannehill was 3-1 in those first four games with the wins against opponents that have won 65% of their games. Henne was 2-2 with the wins against opponents that won 31% of their games.

if you don't want to compare those guys and imply their success going forward could be similar, why even bother posting their stats? don't act innocent now

True. Tannehill's WPA, an objective measure of the kind of clutch play you're talking about, at this point in his second season (1.10) is better than Henne's was in his second season as a starter (2010) overall (negative 1.28), although we have no way of knowing what Henne's WPA was after four games in his second season as a starter.

In 2011 I Jumped on the tank the season for a franchise QB bandwagon. Why? Week 3 VS the Browns Chad Henne couldn't even drive the ball 30 yards to win. He throws a damn pick against one of the worst teams in football that year. Ryan Tannehill does NOT have that problem. There's nothing to discuss or compare here. If Chad Henne were so good Blaine Gabbert would be on the streets. I'll take it one further. If Jax drafted Tannehill last year Gabbert would have been cut.

Some of these threads are like driving by a car wreak....you say to yourself.."I'm not going to look,I'm not going look,but
