If you see a 9 man blitz audible out of that stupid double reverse fake pump throwing play...

I mean C'Mon Man!

its amazing how one game means someone all of a sudden sucks... in the first Jets game he was amazing against the blitz... but this game he had a few sacks, and all of a sudden he doesn't know how to pick up a blitz... i guess he forgot how to do that in those 2 weeks between jets games?

No QB can be good until teams pick up the blitz.

Thanks for enlightening us.

Its a known fact that young QBs struggle with getting rid of the ball when they are supposed to. He also has time to develop the instinct to pick up the blitz. Its not a foregone conclusion he will never improve in that area. This is the first handful of starts in his NFL career and has performed pretty well to be honest.

Sure he's flawed...just like most QBs in the league and he's young to boot. Give him time.

I thought he was pretty poised. Sack is alot better than a pick.
He did lead the winning TD drive for the 2nd time against the Jets vaunted defense.

i think our Backs are actually really good against the blitz, thats the first line of defense... But Henne needs to learn how to get out of that situation and call an audible, a hot route, get rid of the ball quickly...

has anyone else noticed that Henne never changes the play at the line, thats rare for a qb in this day and age...

No, when we send out one receiver and Play action on a 3rd and 12 against a 9 man blitz instead of calling a screen play or a slant, thats when he fails. Idiotic play calling in the 2nd half of the saints game and mainly the entire Jets game. Saints blitz all out also all the time.

It's extremely difficult to sweep any team...lard *** had his defense prepared, I'll give him that...henne made some mistakes...at least he didn't throw 5 int's

1. comes with experience

It's difficult for an inexperianced QB to take a sack instead of trying to do too much and throwing a pick. I would certainly would prefer sacks over interceptions, but that's just me.

He will be better when he gets a helmet that fits and doesn't squish his eyebrows together.

This is about laughable....it's not just Henne that needs to read that blitz, the WHOLE offense does. Generally speaking, when a QB reads the blitz, he's going to go to a hot route...the designated reciever for the hot route needs to read it as well. Henne and the reciever need to see the same thing and be on the same page as far as what route the reciever will then run and Henne needs to trust that the guy will do just that.....it's only going to come with experience in the offense and with the recievers.

Another reason I am an advocate for getting a real TE.

yeah wtf is up with that anyways?

he looks so pissed off all the time

Good I want him to look pissed off. I also enjoy how he displays no emotion. Ted Ginn returned the first or second kick and he's just pointing like "go ted go"

All I will say is:

1.)3-1

2.)3-1

3.)3-1

Henne's record since being starter this season. The guy is basically a rookie. I measure how good he is by his record and poise. So far I think he is playing pretty awesome in general. Is he perfect? No. Watching him play tho gives me hope. For example he missed Hartline deep....give him some time and he will hit that throw. Right now, 3-1 looks good to me.
