Hi guys im new on these forums and i was just wondering what your thoughts are on chad henne and if he should star next year/or your opinions on him, thanks

If he can beat the other Chad in camp sure, but odds are he won't.We have the QB of now and Future and his name is Chad................Chad Pennington.

Henne may be the future, like any other second round pick, however as of right now there is no QB controversy. Pennington is the QB of the Dolphins, matter of fact if you listen to Sporano talk its obvious.

Personally I think Henne should start next year. Pennington is a good QB and he is great for this team right now but we all know Henne is the long term QB. Henne started every season at QB from his freshman year in high school to his senior year in college at Michigan. When we put him in I believe he will do great but at this point Pennington provides us with a better chance to keep winning and I believe he will keep winning games. I think it depends on what happens in training camp next year.

The thing is, i dont really like how Pennington plays. His short dump of passes really piss me off sometimes, and i would like a QB with an arm. (Yes i saw His bomb to Ginn, but still) I would rather go with Henne because he gives us the deep threat option, i've seen many times where ginn was open but Pennington didn't throw it because he was scared he wouldn't reach/not be as accurate, so he would just pass a 4 yarder to camarillo or brown.

I believe that is the only 9 route he has thrown all season. I am disappointed with that. I like his leadership in the huddle but those wobblers going mid field scare me.

So your saying your in love with Henna's arm,,,,,You must still have a thing for Beck too.

I wish he would throw more also.

I am hoping for an open competition. It will bring the best out of both. With that said, I would expect Pennington to be the starter next year. Henne will probably take over in 2010.

I think Pennington should play the rest of this year unless we loss 4 more games then put in Henne but i think Pennington should play out the year and then next year put in Chad Henne

WELL, i'll put a different spin on this. Penny is a very good QB and has the heart of a lion, but is not the answer to becoming a great team. As Dolphin fans, he gives us the stability we haven't seen in a long time and is one of the reasons we are where we are right now, competitive.

If we are going to be a deep playoff team, a stronger arm is going to be necessary and Henne has it. The offense will need to be to perfect to march 80 yds and on good man coverage teams he will struggle to thread the ball quickly, as we would see in deeper rounds of the playoffs.

Sure we could build a dominant defense and let the offense make their own identity, but on 3rd and long we struggle, not because the wr's. but because Penny's arm can't be consistent down field. Perfect example was the 30+ yard throw to Ginn, as he had to slow down to catch it. A stronger arm and he is off to the races. This will spread the defense, force more zone coverage, or exploit man coverage. Simply put, Henne will get his chance one day. I hope sooner than later.

I think another year of pine-riding for Henne will benefit him. Let him fully learn the playbook and have a complete grasp of the offense. Pennington has played great for us this season and I'm sure his skills aren't going to diminish drastically in only one offseason. Hopefully both chad's play an integral part in our team for the next couple of years.
