Chad Henne

I do not feel Henne deserves another chance. He is the reason Sparano was fired. I used to blame Sparano for Henne being the starting qb even when he was playing unacceptably but after reading where Fishers main complaint was that he wanted to have control of the players on his roster and he was told he couldn't it makes me wonder how much control Tony really had over the team. I feel he was the skapegoat for Irelands poor roster moves.

moore won, henne didn't, next question

So Tony's play calling and ultra conservative approach was on Ireland as well -as well as Tony' s inability to handle players like Joey Porter who stole reps from Wake - Tony also gets a pass for Dinosaur Henning - Sorry Tony was a lame duck coach trying to win to save face

Yeah, I'd love for the team to bring back Henne to compete with Moore, if we can't find a stud in the draft. He's shown improvement and he's still young.

From what I can tell, the reason "Moore won and Henne didn't" has to do with two factors, neither of which is QB play: defensive improvement and improved red-zone playcalling. When Henne was in, every red-zone play went to Brandon Marshall. When they moved away from that -and not when Henne got injured-, we started scoring more.

And no, I'm not in the "I want a QB with magical winning powers" camp.

Once again, what makes the "bring back Henne" posts so laughable is the fact that Henne is no longer under contract. The team would have to resign him, even if only to push Moore or whoever else gets brought in during training camp. Why would Henne choose to sign with a team that's basically given his starter job to someone else and where the fans began the season literally screaming for him to be replaced? Henne can get a cheap contract from a lot of teams, not just the Dolphins, and he'd be wise to go somewhere else where there's a more realistic chance to salvage what remains of his career. In order to keep him, the Dolphins would have to give him a better deal than he's worth. He's not going to sign here for a minimal amount.

he could very well be brought back and compete with moore. Moore is far from a sure thing. Also, the new HC will want to see what he has in Henne and Moore.

I don't think he will be here, but I think he was showing some signs of improvement before the injury. I'm just wondering if he can make significant improvement under a different coach. I bet 49er fan is glad they didn't dump Smith now!
