for a guy that "stares down" his receivers seems to have pretty decent touchdown, interception ratio. His completion % wasnt to shabby either. I believe that Henne has the tools, and the coaching to become a very successful QB. Yes he will defintly be tested in the NFL, but imagine him adjusting the timing and having a number 1 WR. I dont expect, but hope this team makes it deep into the playoffs. More importantly I look forward to Henne developing into a great, clutch QB and this franchise being a playoff contender year round.

he has 13 games to prove himself

I am more encouraged by what is between his ears than anything

he is a leader, a hard worker and committed to working with the receivers he was dealt

he doesn't necessarily have to be great, but show growth

forget the college numbers they mean squat in the bigs

come December we will know what we have

i think Henne has the necessary tools to be an effective QB. He also has great team mates and coaches around him, which will help him with his confidence early on. i expect big things from this kid down the road. lets hope he has the determination and work ethic to make it to the top. STOMP THE JETS

I agree, just want to see improvement over the course of the year. He seems to be going about everything the right way so far. Working hard, team meetings, pretty much picking up where Penny left off, which is great to see.

Although his college numbers are really good, I agree they dont mean much, plenty of QB's have put up great numbers in college, and did not have it carry over to the NFL.

I hope by December we do know what we have, and hopefully it is a solid QB that we can rely on from here on out, because I really do not want to have the team start from scratch again. I have faith in Henne, hope he proves me right.

A leader. The way hes been carring himself shows alot of
leadership. Also if this cameron wake expierment pans out, chad henne will benefit from the possible defense Turnaround. This defense is real young and talebt is there i.e sundays performance. Forget the fact it was with the bills. They played cohesivley and decisivly as one. They delevop that every sunday and chad henne grows. Hello superbowl...d's win the bowl.

i dont see the guy ever lead the league in td's or nothing, but he is a great leader. i just hope he can be a solid player.

The D is young and will only progress (Merling, Langford, Smith, Davis, Wake, and others)

Even if he stares his receivers down, if he gets the ball there quick enough it won't matter, which if what I'm seeing.

He just needs to practice with the #1's I believe Penningtons injury is blessing in disguise.

Even with 125 yds passing in his first start he completed third downs and took chances, thats all we need, take the reigns chad.

How do you see that ? IMO he will be a consistent 3500+ 25+ yds & tds respectivley..He has the tools & he has the motivation..

I think they do when you played in front of 100,000 fans of ohio state and others. but yeah, you still have to start over and make it happen in NFL. I think his four years starting has a huge difference in his makeup of being rattled by nerves and such. Henne was smart with the football by eating the ball on sacks and throwing it away when no one open or could not see them.

When Henned starts to understand his receivers better on a regular basis, he will start hitting the open guy over the middle more.

Thanks for passing this along and presenting this...but in my honest opinion college stats don't mean anything to me when you get to the NFL level. Take Ted Ginn Jr. for example. Let's see how Henne develops into an NFL QB and go from there...

NFL defenses, athletes, schemes, etc. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> College

Prove it to me at this level and we'll talk.

you know we'll find out what hes all about when we are in a situation and he has to win the game for us...

last week we were able to rely on the run game and got an early lead and it was easy for him... at some point he'll have to show his moxie and win us a game with his arm... thats when we'll learn what Chad Henne is all about...

As long as he has a dominating running game, he won't be asked to put up those kind of #'s.

Well, we have a dominating running game. The problem is that our defense except for last week has kept the opponent in games. Whoever our QB is, he will be asked to put us in a position to win at the end of games.
