Chad Johnson 4.4

Who gives a **** what 40 time he ran in shorts? Has nothing to do with playing the game of football or learning our playbook.......

It is important, because if he ran a 4.4 he hasn't lost a step, as some have reported, which increases the chance that he can regain old form.

Poor run at the combine then another poor run at the pro day eh?

Johnson isn't a physical specimen. He's, at his VERY BEST, a 4.49. He gets open with great routes and quick cuts.

 What is it with you guys? There's a whole thread dedicated to "Chad Johnson runs poor routes and uses his speed to get by defenders"; Now this. Which is it?

Let me make sure I get this right; According to FH, HBO (and Stephen Ross) put pressure on the front office to sign an aging slow, poor route running, locker room cancer, for the sole purpose of putting butts in the seats and boosting Hard Knocks ratings?

Great post! The dolphins signed ocho to win above all else..It is well known that one of the dolphins biggest holes is receiver. And when you have a new system and new quarterbacks its nice to have a veteran that has performed at a high level and give the qb some confidence. I think Chads going to fit in really well and catch his fair share of passes.

Then you don't know Chad, he's done with a capital "D" and if he even makes the team it's only because he sucks less than the other crappy WR's that will be taking the field this year for the Fins.

At the very least, he will stretch the field leaving 1on 1 coverage on Hartline and Bess. Not a bad signing at all since BM is gone.

I'm so happy we recieved your expert opinion.

He's a freak of nature, no doubt. But he's not a top 5 WR because his stats simply don't support that. He's always disappeared in the red zone (even with the great Cutler in Denver) and his TD production is very lacking. That alone takes him out of the top 5 rankings...

Never said he was a top five wide receiver in the league.

You don't have to be an expert to see when the sun is bright, or if it's raining out, and you don't need to be an expert to watch Chad not get separation or run the wrong routes. He's done, he couldn't do anything with Tom Brady throwing him the ball, if you think he will with Moore, or a rookie QB, then I'm sorry my friend but you're kidding yourself.

He not only ran a 4.4, but he ran backwards...into the wind...wearing flip-flops...while tweeting about it.

child please.

I also heard that he was taking the snap, and throwing his own passes to himself Superman style.

You just tried wayyy too hard to be funny.

Not sure why there is hate from around the fan base about this. It's not like this signing is hurting the phins long-term. He signed for the vet min and has an incentive based contract. If he ends up being good, awesome. If he doesn't, what did it hurt? And don't say "taking reps from the young players" because his presence can help just as much or more than it can hinder their growth.
If he sucks and still makes the team and doesn't produce, THEN knock the signing.

There is a rumor going around that Chad Ochocinco outran a cheetah in wet swim trunks while holding a bowl of cereal.

Child please.

Yeah, Chad Johnson ran a 4.57 at the 2001 combine and a 4.52 at his pro day. No way he's running 4.4s now

Not sure where you got his pro day time from but the Bengals drafted Chad after he ran a sub 4.4 during a private workout.
After a relatively slow 40-yard dash time of 4.56 seconds at the February scouting combine, Johnson's stock may have slipped. Some projections had him being drafted late in the first round, but the Bengals say they timed him in a fast 4.36 seconds during a private workout.

“I was nervous, tense at the combine,” Johnson said. “I just want to tell the Bengals organization that I won't let you down.”

He couldn't learn the playbook in NE it has been cited numerous times, he still has it but has to ask other receivers where to line up.
