Chad Johnson arrived late to the Pro Bowl, but he definitely made an impact. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't a good one.
Johnson, who wants to force a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals, did a light NFL Network interview with Jamie Dukes but he blew off the national reporters waiting to talk to him. The scene wasn't pretty. At one point, he brushed aside a NFL public relations representative who tried to stop him because it's mandatory that Pro Bowl players do interviews. Johnson faces a possible fine.
Drew Rosenhaus, Johnson's agent, was in attendance at Thursday's practice. He said he is quietly working behind the scenes to fix the situation. Johnson isn't giving him much help. He was prickly dealing with the media Thursday, which is unusual for one of the most accessible players in the sport.
In the NFL Network interview, Johnson seemingly talked in code. With no follow up questions, it was hard to get his point. Johnson said he wanted those in the Bengals organization who have been speaking out against him to go public with their complaints. He said he was hearing them for 16 weeks.
"But now I don't hear them," Johnson said. "Where are you at now? It's time to let it out. The only voice I here is mine."
The receiver is at his fifth Pro Bowl, replacing New England's Randy Moss, and he defended his self-promoting manner and discussed his performances.
"Consistently, I've done it," he said in the NFL Network interview, according to The Associated Press. "I haven't done it perfect, but consistently at a high level. I get out of line at times, but what great one doesn't? What great one doesn't get emotional? Find me a great one who hasn't done it like that and I'll be quiet."
The Bengals don't plan to trade Johnson. They also don't plan to get a new contract. He's suggested trades to the Washington Redskins or the Miami Dolphins.

This is good news. Eihter way if he goes to the Skins he will play for #21. And if he comes here than wow.

I would be ok with CJ coming here as long as it did not cost us too much. Chad sounds very unhappy in Cincy. I think the Skins already have a pretty solid group of receivers and a good TE in Cooley....he would probably get more catches here, and the Skins also don't have a coach right now.

why does he piss and moan and then ask to be traded to a team with no apparent QB talent

sure y not. lolll its goin to be one hell of a year

maybe b/c a better atmosphere sometimes means more hten a QB throwing u the ball. Ppl dont like being around shady ppl/places so why be htere? stay depressed? not down.

His pissing and moaning are due to him getting an unfair share of the blame for the Bengals' season, despite Chad having another good year. I frankly dont blame him. Its like when youre at your job and you do what do you well and you know it and as do most people, but when things go wrong with the company that is at the fault of other employees and/or management, and you being the one they count on most, they turn to you and place the blame on your shoulders. I wouldnt want to stay in that situation for long.

^^^^yeah he's from liberty city. i'd love to have one of our own come back home. bring back cj!!!!

keyshawn at tight end, chad at wide.. y not? last year cameron signed the ginn family. why not sign the johnson family 2? then we will have 5 players with family members in the organization.. talk about a team! we would have a family!

id love to have him...but i also seen where he said he wanted to go to a team that could make the playoffs and us makin the playoffs next year is a long shot

yea exactly. ppl give athletes NO ROOM to be HUMANS thats what i ahte bout fans. the smallest comment that means ntn is turned into a huge deal by media n fans. its very very very sad. I played ball for years and we had a team that always respected the coach n we won 7 championships with this team but if somethign wetn wrong ppl expressed their displeasure n' it was normal cuz its a normal thing to do but once these pros do it its the end of the world. I can't believe they haven't lost their minds n' tahts why some just play to collect a paycheck b/c after a while if u dont tune things out u might just go suicidal due to the intense pressure ppl put on them. Look at TO for crying out loud. love the guy but yet he can't get a tear out w/out being clowned on.

I'd gladly love to see him on Miami. I understand we want to build young and through the draft, but a player like this is great. Not only does he draw publicity, but he brings talent. Sure, he may not be the world's best mentor and Beck isn't Marino, but with Ginn and Johnson it would be hard pressed to find a team in the league that had the secondary to contain both of these guys.

That and even if Beck isn't the answer in the long run, I think a wide reciever like Johnson could make an average quarterback look even better. Tom Brady / Randy Moss anyone?

Carson Palmer has CERTAINLY gotten ALOT of help from CJ and TJ. Johnson made him though...the bengels and palmer were NOTHING until they broke out when the duo was workin wonders and rudi was runin wild.
