Chad Ochocinco released, states Dolphins possible landing spot.

Hope so! People that do not want him are blinded. Youre going to sit here and honestly say that Lego Naanee is a better option than Ocho-Stinko!

I hear what you are saying, but if we are going to deal with a diva WR, we should've kept BM. Ocho is thinking about his next career right now, while hoping some team gives him his last NFL paycheck. Let him go dancing, bullriding or whatever he wants into the sunset.....he would be useless here.

The title is misleading. Ochocinco didn't state Miami as a possible landing spot...NFL.com did. They like stories and if they can't find one, like any other outlet nowadays, they will fabricate one. Chad Ochocinco is washed up, he's never been a disciplined route runner, he likes to freelance every now and then like Marshall and that's one of the many reasons he had no success under Brady. You could see early on that Chad was running the wrong routes when Brady threw his way and eventually Brady stopped looking for him cause he didn't trust him. That's not the type of route runner/receiver you need in the WCO.

Furthest thing from the truth!!!!!!!!!
Chad has ALWAYS been a EXTREMELY GREAT ROUTE RUNNER........
You should watch some of his footage. The way he set CB up was unreal!
Why do you think NE brought him in. Bellicheat would not take a player that played on his own page.

This is definitely an eye-opener. I have looked at both sides of the coin, and I am now leaning towards just bringing him and trying him out. Like one of the posters said, it wouldn't hurt. We cut our losses if it doesn't work.

Who do you think we would get more production out of, Naanee or OchoStinko?

There is no danger in bringing him in for camp. Like previously stated, low price tag and if it does not work out cut ties and move on. I don't see a huge risk here.

Let me try to explain this for the several people writing posts like this one.

There are only so many practice reps before the season starts. Every practice reps given to a washed up, 38 year old WR is a rep TAKEN from a rookie or UDFA WR. It is not like we get extra practice time when we sign some over the hill player. So besides showing the young WRs here that we do not have any faith in them, we also take any from them chances to show us if they can play in the NFL.

We already know about the old player. Yes, he could play 5 years ago and no, he can't play anymore.

Also, in case anyone missed it, we are going to be on HBO's Hard Knocks. What do you want the story lines to be? Do you want it to be about C Gates or one of our rookies trying to make the team? Or do you want it to be about us wasting time seeing if a old fart can manage to squeeze one more season out of some stupid NFL team?

There is no "huge risk" bring Jerry Rice or Jason Taylor in, but it is a freaking waste of time and money and PRACTICE REPS !

P.S. Do not want be one of those posters. Do not be one of those who starts a thread when the next washed up player is released from some NFL team after doing almost nothing last season. Do not spout out the old "why not? line. Be better then that.

Eh, Im not so sure about that.

Let me 1st say that I am on the fence with brinng Chad in. It has nothing to do with his ablity and has everything to do with where his head is. But with that said lets be honest here......Chad has more ability than any reciever on the roster when he is focused on football.

So to say we are wasting reps on him IF he was brought in is kinda foolish.

If you haven't noticed Belichick's ego is huge. He feels he can take on any player and get the most out of them, he thinks that just by sitting down with them they will do exactly what he asks of them and all will be fine. Did he not bring in Albert Haynesworth that same season as well, only to release him cause he couldn't get him motivated? Obviously your eating up the ESPN company line that Belichick is larger than life, larger than the game of football itself...you've been had.

Con: he reportedly has trouble deciphering complex algorithms in playbooks.

Pro: in WCO he only needs to "count" & cut.

I'm ok with signing him.

This is true.. He is a very good route runner.. The reason why he sucked in NE was not because of his route running ability, it was because he didnt know the plays, of which led him to not knowing which routes to run. That is why Brady didnt trust him. That doesnt make him a bad route runner, it makes him a poor student of the Rats playbook.

Well, He had THE best QB in the game throwing to him and ... How many yds, Td's, and catches he had???

You cant be serious. The guy knows like 2 routes. And he cant block, and he drops a lot of passes, and plays street ball much lke Brandon Marshall did. To say Ochocino is a good route runner is a huge stretch.

I remember Bill Cowher said on NFL Today 2 years ago that he though Ochocinco was the most overrated player when they were discussing Sport's Illustrated's list of top 50 pverrated players, and he is rarely critical of people on air.

When he was in cinci it was well known that he was a superb route runner.
