Chad Pennington is a GREAT quarterback!!!!

I am so impressed with the guy that I would be ecstatic if we could sign him up long term. I really do not care who we have as a backup right now, Pennington has been simply remarkable this year. While he may not have the strongest arm, he has all the other qualities you would like to see in a quarterback. One thing that really impresses me about him is how much of a leader that he is. When it looked like Denver was going to make a comeback at the end, Pennington brought the offense together and drove down 80 yards. He is one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league and he knows how to win. I just can't believe how dumb the Jets were to let him go. He is such a great player and we need to sign him long term.

The best thing is we didn't spend a lot of money on him and he is going to mentor our QB of the future, Chad Henne. If we didn't have him, we'd probably be 0-8 or 1-7.

I totally agree. I love Chad Henne an am excited to have him as our future QB, but now I don't want that day to come. Before Penny got here I figured we would see Henne some time this year and that he would be thrown to the wolves a la Beck, but now with the way Penny has played I hope the guy is with us and healthy for 4 or 5 years. He doesn't throw the longball, but his leadership, smarts and heart make him a wonderful guy to be leading our team.
 
I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. Watching Pennington all this season, and I can't help but think how good we would be on offense if we had a QB who could make all of the throws. We should have had many touchdowns today, and all we got were field goals.

Checkdown Chad, and his marginal efficiency and accuracy are not good enough. I can't wait until Henne starts playing.

Pennington is an excellent quarterback and hes having a career year. Imagine if this guy had a strong arm, he would be one of the greatest

Most of the time, we are winning in spite of Pennington.
 
See what happens when you get an accurate QB who doesn't force INT's???? You win. I love the way Chad is playing....not trying to do too much. I think if we had not gotten conservative we would have won this by 17-20 points, but I'll take.
