3rd and 15 and he throws a 5 yard pass? he did that at least 5 or 6 times.

Thats why i have never been a big fan of him, hes too conservitive. Every QB needs to have a little "gun slinger" in them if they want to win. Pennington has always played to not lose, he never plays to win.

Some may say its dan henning fault, I think it a little bit of both, I watched Dan Henning's poor offence when he was in Carolina, and it seems like he never calls the right plays for a 3rd and long situations.

I just want to see Chad to take some chances and actually try and pick up 1st downs to move the chains.

Dont get me wrong he played solid, better than most of our QB's in the past. but it just seems like he's too conservitive at times. I would rather have a QB who takes chances than a QB who will not.

Right...and then when our QB throws an ill-advised pass that's intercepted, you'll rip him for making the stupid throw.

How about avoiding 3rd and 15 situations, which have an extremely low conversation rate, in the first place.

Thank you. What are you talking about Charlie Brown??? You want him to throw it to guys that ARENT OPEN 20 yards downfield and give the ball away??

If Miami wants to win games, then Pennington is gonna have to make some plays down the field, he had good protection at times and he had guys open down feild at times.

i can agree with that... it really ticked me off the few times i saw him do that.. QB's do it all the time though, and it makes no sense

You guys are being pretty ridiculous. It's not like Pennington WANTED to throw short passes on third and long, he did it because he didn't have better options. Throwing downfield just for the sake of it is not a good strategy. It's better to gain some yards and punt then try and force it and throw a pick.

Not to mention, when watching a live game, you can't tell whether or not receivers were open downfield like 95% of the time.

i can agree with that too

I feel if he would have tried and taken chances and it got picked off, then most of us would be calling for his head for forcing a throw.I was frustrated too, but we can only see one part of the field while watching it on tv.

Penny took what he had, and unforunatly that meant very few passes downfield. It is better to take a 5 yard pass on 3rd and 15 then a 15 yard int.

he never had anyone deep to throw to. Thats why he threw underneath. Get used to it too. We got a lot more of it coming.

I thought Penne played pretty well today; however, this was the first time I got to actually see him and I am a little concerned about his velocity. He got the ball downfield a couple of times but evn his shorter routes seemed to lack any real zip. I do like his leadership and his decision making though. 3rd and 15 is tough to complete for any one. 4th and 13 well...........................................a miracle

Thats how Chad Pennington has always played.....very conservitive, thats why he has a high completion %

Dont get me wrong at times I agree the best thing to do was to dump it off, but when your down.... he gotta make something happen

But other than that, I hope he stays healthy because he is the best QB we've had in a long time, I just dont want him to be afraid to take some shots. Some of the best QB take shots down feild all the time.

Why would you have a QB throw to WR that for the most part are not open and remember these guys are new and young.. We do not have that one WR, for that I feel we can not fault the QB. It takes a little time to establish chemistry. Man the TE's did look good in this game!!!
