didn't see this posted anywhere, and if it has been, then my bad....http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/football/story/824799-p2.html
I remember seeing an article earlier in the year that said if he did re-negotiate his contract he understands that he would eventually become a backup and that his ultimate goal is to win now, while mentoring the quarterbacks for the future.
When Sparano phoned his quarterback at 4 p.m. Tuesday, a scheduled day off, the QB told the coach he hadn't needed to call. ''I'm downstairs in the film room,'' Pennington said.
Said Sparano: ``When it's Week 16 of this season, and your quarterback is there at four o'clock on his day off, that tells me an awful lot.''
Pennington conducts private weekly strategy meetings with wide receivers or offensive linemen. ''I've never seen that done before,'' Sparano says.
The stories fortify the belief that Miami, like Pennington, would like to keep this relationship alive beyond this year. Pennington, 32, is happier now, something friends and family link to Miami's success.
