chad pennington...

I suggest Pennington as a coach. I am serious about it. Not a head coach, but a position coach definitely. He was very much a coach on the field. I think he would be a great qb coach.

Call it illusionary or weak schedule or wildcat or whatever excuse you have, we won 9 straight must win games without a very strong team. Winning in the NFL isn't easy, even Greenbay lost to KC. We went from being a pathetic byword in the NFL to the AFC East Title, and first time in the playoffs in 10 years. Pennington completed almost 70% without turning the ball over, and always won in the clutch. He turned this franchise around and made us respectable. You can say that we lost to Baltimore, but we can't win everygame (hard enough winning 9 straight "playoff" games just to get in the playoffs. And you guys are talking about how great Matt Moore is.

Really why would we want to do that, he would probably trip over the sideline on the way in for the first series of the year and and tear something in his throwing shoulder.

You have to look at the worse case scenerio and he can at least win games...that's all I'm saying.

Lets be fair, Penny's 08 season was no fluke.....the guy put up league high completion % numbers that were stellar, always did.
08 Penny would have killed Moore this season without a doubt.....but unfortunately I think his ship has sailed.

I would take a healthy 5 years younger Pennington without blinking and go in to 2012 season with a huge smile on my face and no QB concerns. But........alas I am concerned

I never said a thing about Matt Moore. But I will say this, Penny was let go by NY and they have moved on. Why can't MIA fans?

And you say he never turned the ball over. Well he did have 6ints in his last 4 games. All loses btw.

Once PO caliber teams figured him out, he was done. The guy isn't all you make him out to be. Its why he was sent out to pasture, and only a QB starved franchise, would he be considered anything above avg.

True, however Ted Ginn and Greg Camarillo were his best Wr's. The Bills and Jets had the same opportunity with Brady going down as the difference between a first place schedule and a last place schedule is 2 games (and we lost those 2 different games anyway) so we beat them out on the remaining identical schedules. I by no means want a CP comeback to Miami, he is done, but it's funny how Matt Ryan gets tons of excuses with Roddy White, Julio Jones, Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez, yet Pennington gets all the blame with the highly regarded Ted Ginn, Greg Camarillo and Anthony Fasano.

Also if the Jets skipped the Favre experiment and stuck with noodle arm they easily beat us out for the AFC east title. CP would have never blown as many games ad Favre did with more talent around him then we had.

Numbers don't lie. He won 7 games by 7pts or less to teams that were .500 or worse. And then when he faced PO caliber teams, in his last 4 games. 6 INTS and 4 loses. That is what CP is about.

Is the Player/coach position still in the rulebook? Penny would be great in that role.

Note: I had thought the play/coach did not count against the final roster. Denver had the last player/coach I could find.

Don't thrash me for this...but I believe if penny would have never gotten injured.tony would still have his job..unfortunately injuries have derailed him..BUT with the limited qb market and poor draft position to take rg3 or luck.why not pennington? Sure he has a noodle arm,not the biggest guy,but he wins.so what I am asking you all, would you be opposed to bringing him in IF we can't get at the very least Matt Flynn?come in and compete with Matt Moore? If he checks out o.k medically? The team has done nothing but gotten better since he took us to an 11 win season after that horrible 1-15 season.I think he is very capable of taking us to the playoffs and beating out Matt Moore with this current team..express your displeasure or interest on this unlikely/likely circumstance.I personally am all for it as a worse case scenerio..

I think that Pennington is definitely done as a player but I would certainly entertain the idea of making him our QB coach!

penny hasn't won a game in over 2 years...so i don't think its safe to assume he can do anything anymore...what he likely does is waste your cap space

Jesus ****ing Christ....

I have a broken ankle and I'm an unathletic 5'8 217, I'm drunk 3-4 days out of the week, but I'm 24 and very very confident that I can throw a football with more zip than Chad Pennington can at this point.
