Is bad. He has a weak arm for an NFL quarterback. Everybody knows this. However I don't care what anyone says it's no excuse for getting dominated up front like we did today and in the Ravens game. Actually the line was a little better in run blocking then in pass blocking today but not by much. I think we should leave old chicken arm alone until we play a good game up front and he stinks up the joint like he did today and in the Ravens game. Fans calling for Henne cracks me up. Wouldn't you want our future QB to be able to soundly beat out Pennington or do we just want to see how a QB with a stronger arm does with poor pass blocking? My guess is not much better.

I think the oline had a bad day, but these games will still happen against great D's even if the oline has a good day.

Examples please.
Do you think Penny is going to dip and dunk and be successful against the Titans, Steelers, Jets, ect.?

They will shut down our run game and force Penny to pass. Nobody fears Penny, everyone sees it. The problem is, Penny is a great guy and very easy to defend.

Here we go again
Penny is our QB and our starter. I don't want Henne in now. It's only week 1.

.... but if Pennington plays like this again consistently (which I think he will), it's time for Henne. I'm sick of people defending him. I would like him as the QB coach.

We don't stand a chance against elite D's. The oline will continue to get dominated if their D keeps stacking the box all the time.

If we win the battle at the LOS we would be in position to win the game. Penney has beaten good defenses in his career. We were one at times weren't we? Dude always beat us because the Jest offensive line would handle our front 7.

"no one fears penny" so if our o-line which is supposed to be so great run blocks well against these teams and then penny puts a few well placed 7-15 yard out patterns in for first downs they start respecting him. Its not only about "fear" we have to execute. i have faith that we can execute but our o-line needs to open up the game by controling the line of scrimmage better. idk why arm strenth equates so much in ppls minds to wins. if you run a nice play, the reciever gets seperation and the line protects the qb so he can get to the reciever then you put points on the board. penny has shown he can do this..i dont get it.

jay cutler has a strong arm...u remember that.

Pennington can't win the big games. It's simple as that.

I respect him and I think he's a great guy, but I can't defend him anymore. The weak arm is a real downside to our team.

Cutler has a very strong arm. Al Harris said his hands still sting from Cutler's 4th and game blowing pick he caught.

Piss poor pass blocking?

Miami has one of the best offensive lines in the league.....the two best bookend tackles in the NFL......two of the best guards....and Jake Grove...

Only problem is....they seem to have an issue when asked to block the guy across from them...

His teams have beaten a Drew Brees lead Chargers team and Peyton Manning led Colts team in playoff games. Pretty big if you ask me. Would have knocked Pittsburgh out in 04 if the Jets kicker could make on of 2 attempts at the game winning field goal. When I see our line play well and Pennington fall apart I'll stop defensing him as well. However the Ravens game last year and this Falcons game were not exmples of that.

It's the velocity of his throws. If he had a good arm, that INT would have never happened. The ball would have gotten to the WR fast and there would hve been YAC. Since Penny has a noodle arm, the ball hangs and gives the DB's time to get to the ball. Ginn is ALWAYS underthrown. If Penny wasn't so accurate and smart, he would be abysmal. All he can do is make smart plays. That's it.

If it's 2nd and 10 and we get a penalty, the drive is over. We can't convert long plays for first downs. Penny simply passes to Ronnie for 2 yards, fools no one, and the drive is over. Pretty 1 dimensional offense there.

It worked last year, but it won't work this year. This season (not now) is where we should put Henne in. Even if it's a long season, Henne will gain experience. I truly believe he's our future.

Does Fins at Jets, week 17, 2008 ring a bell?
The Jets were in a middle of a collapse, big game, but they didn't beat a great team by a huge margin. Favre threw 3 Int's, he cost them that game. Not taking anything away from last year.
