Regardless of what some of you like to believe about Chad's post seasons with the JETS here are the stats I could find:
2002 (QB rating 2 games 78.8)
41-0 Indy 222 yards 3TD 0 INT
10-30 Oakland 183 yards 1 TD 2 INT

2004 (QB rating 2 games 90.5)
20-17 San Diego 279 yards 2 TD 0 INT
17-20 Pittsburg 182 yards 0 TD 1 INT

2006 (QB rating 1 game 79.2)
16-37 Patriots 300 yards 1 TD 1 INT

So for his 5 previous post season games with the JETS he had 2 wins 3 losses , averaged 233.2 yrds per game, 7 TDs and 4 INTs, and had an average 83.8 QB rating.

Don't let your JET friends fool you with "this is the Chad we all Knew, can't play in the big game s**t".

He had a bad game against the Ravens (not all his fault) that is not his normal play in big games.

and he should have won the game against Pittsburgh you see on that list, but Doug Brien their kicker blew it. So Chad didn't "fail to win the big game" in that situation either.

Thanks for the info. I thought this was true, but the numbers back it up.

Including the Ravens game his stats are now 8 TD's 8 INT's and a Qb Rating of 77.3 which is nearly 14 points lower than his career average.

The only bad game he had in postseason for us was at oak in 2002 and he had no help from his WRs w/ dropped passes and dumb penalties. That game was a 10-10 game evry late in the 3rd.

Brien should have made 1 of 2 but to be fair Chad did only lead the offense to 3 points that game BUT he was playing w/ a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder.

I remember watching this game and the Raiders just ABUSED him. But yeah it was close for a while. I watched all of his post-season games with the Jets and that was the only game i really got the feeling that he was playing so poorly that they wouldn't win. So i'm not sure where these others Jets fans are getting these "Chad cost us every play off game, he'll do the same for you" comments from. It seems like yesterdays game may have been one of the few cases where he did TRULY cost his team a chance at winning.

our team was really inexperienced when it came to the playoffs and the ravens have a lot of veteran players who have been there.......I wanted us to win but didn't expect it....

It's not necessarily that he can't play in the "big game", it's that he lacks the physical skills to attack a top tier defense and his confidence seems to get shaken when those top tier defenses start attacking him.

As much as everyone likes to ignore his lack of arm strength, it really comes into play against the best defenses. Not being able to make certain throws or fit the ball into small spaces is a problem.

That's basically how I see it.

I was at the Colts game in 2002 and he tore them up, I'd say that counts as a "big game". The one against SD @SD most certainly counts as a "big game" too. Neither of those teams had a top defense with a lot of speed though.

Against the Colts Horrible defense which was ranked like 25th in the league that year?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. My point is that it's not the big game he struggles with it's top defenses.

A lot of his problems yesterday were that a lot of throws down the field were inaccurate. This is the fault of our offensive coordinator for calling these plays since his quaterback was not playing to his strength. He ended up throwing to Ed Reeds way for most of the game and that is not going to win you any games. There were some plays where he had all day to throw but he could not connect down the field.

Our game plan would have been very easy for us if we would have played a more conservative game but dynamic enough to get us by. The short throws really worked for us through the game but we adopted the longer throws which haunted us for the rest of the game.

A combination of the gameplan and inaccurate throws could easily be attributed to the loss at Baltimore. Our defense was tired already, they denied 3 score drives, and basically bolted in the end for us. The team that wins the turnover battle usually wins.
