Chales Leigh No. 23 of the '72 Dolphins

I remember Charles (Charlie) Leigh playing for the '72 Undefeated Dolphins. He was an exciting player who returned kicks with Mercury Morris and played RB behind Morris and Kiick. On a team without much breakaway speed but for Morris and Warfield, Leigh added quickness when needed. I was only 10 years old but I remember oddly enough noticing that many of his kickoff returns would be returned to the 23 yard line. Considering his uniform number was 23 (though he earlier wore the No. 15 before QB Earl Morrall joined the Dolphins) it was an interesting coincidence to the 10 year old boy sitting in the stands with his parents. My prayers and thoughts are with Charlie Leigh and his family, with a special thank you to Charlie for some wonderful childhood memories.
