Chambers and McMike highlights

Seemed like even with Fiedler at the helm, with a decent OC we had a pretty good offense.

Man. Did you see the burst Ricky Williams had in 2003? That was ridiculous. I'm sorry, but Ronnie Brown has shown nothing like that so far. I hope Ricky comes back this season with plans to give it everything he has.

Also, did you see #80? That was McKnight. He was a speed guy at WR. I swear I think that style receiver compliments Chambers better. Booker is too similar to Chambers. Ginn Jr. would be a great speed guy to have at WR to compliment Chambers' ability to go up and catch to difficult ones.

Ricky Williams is not and will never be that running back ever again. Ronnie Brown is the better runner and will be our starter for the entirety of the 2007 season (barring injury.)

To Chambers defense, he did run a 4.33 out of college but I'm not sure what he is at now. McKnight wasn't all that quick, and while it would be nice to get a burner like Ginn, I don't think it's a must have. That's a pretty good point you make though about the burner. I just don't think Booker and Chambers are alike that much at all.

And just how did you come up with that assumption? If Ricky is on the team next year, given a fair shot, he would definitely beat out Ronnie as the #1 back. He was and STILL is far better a running back than Ronnie Brown will ever be.When it comes to instinct and power Ronnie couldnt shine Rickys shoes. Were you not watching the games? You would have seen that there is no comparison.

The primary basis for my theory is love for the game. It's obvious Ricky doesn't want to play football. He doesn't want to be out there, let's face that fact. He lost a lot of weight, has no where near the same power he used to (or even close to Ronnie in power) and has only played 12 games over the past 3 years. He has been missing out on so much action, that it's not just like he can step right out and be the same guy. I'd put money on the fact that Ronnie will have the better year than Ricky. (Who is one failed test away from being gone forever, which is what he probably wants.)

Point taken. I originally thought your quotes were based on your displeasure with Rickys lack of committment. As far as talent though I`d still go with Ricky over Ronnie. I honestly have not seen enough explosive runs by Ronnie to consider him a premier back.

I too would like to see a better burst out of Ronnie once he propels to the second level of the defense. He has a very good burts through the hole and can punish linebackers and defensive backs, but I would like to see a better break away ability once he gets passed the defense. I love Ronnie and I loved Ricky prior to his entire ordeal prior to the 2004 season. I just don't think Ricky will return to his old form.

This is more of an anti-Ricky comment than anything. You don't know what Ricky will be when he returns. The fact is that Ricky at 100% has been better than Ronnie at 100%. And that isn't a shot at Ronnie because he is a good RB.

Just by watching that video, you can see that Ricky wants to get to daylight. Go look at Ronnie Brown highlights and you will see Ronnie wanting to make contact with the defense. It is just a fact that Ronnie likes to run over people. That's great, but you also sell yourself short from big plays. Ricky knows how to make people miss downfield to break the big ones. Just watch the video.

Im sure that Brown will be given every opportunity to be the #1 RB. and probably wil be "given" the starting spot. But I agree with you that Ricky "is" the better back.

Ronnie is actually a perfect 3rd down back. His pass catching abilities and his blocking are superb. Hope Cameron notices this and starts Ricky and has Ronnie used as the 3rd down back/3rd and 4th quarter RB.

This way Ricky stays fresh for the latter part of the season.

Wow! That's exactly what I've noticed and have gotten out of comparing the two as well.

I guess Im not the "all knowing" after all...
