I don't expect many of you guys to agree with this because Welker has played so well this season, but what do u think about putting Chambers as a return man, specifically kick returner (and maybe leaving Wes as punt returner). I'm not proposing this at all because I think Wes isn't capable, it's really just because Chambers is so elusive and explosive with the ball in his hands. Although Wes does a great job of getting to full speed in a hurry on his returns and has done a solid job, I thnk CC has the better chance to make some game-changing plays. Remember, in his rookie season he played some KR and had 36 returns for 811 yds, which is about 26 ypr i think, and he had a long of 47.

Obviously it'd be risking Chambers getting injured, but I'd rather take that minimal risk when it increases our chances well for a game-changing play. Some other teams that use starters also asr return men are the Steelers (CB Ricardo Colclough as KR). Panters (Steve Smith and Chris Gamble as PRs), Bills (Terrence McGee as KR), Texans (Phillip Buchanon - PR), and sometimes I think Santana Moss returns some punts for the Redskins. There are probably others too. what do u guys think?

And when he gets injured?

I think they are going to focus on more glaring needs than overhauling a very effective return game.

He needs to do something

I have come to realize,Chris Chambers is not that good as a receiver :shakeno:
He is not even the best reciever on the team, our TE and RB's are truly better then Chambers. This guy has been a big disappointment, he is not hungry !!!
We need to cut him this offseason and get another WR, this guy is paid too much for his perfomance.

You have to be joking. I cant believe someone could say this. Did you watch the game or look at stats. If we had a half way decent qb Chris would have had at least two long TDs. He gets wide open and Gus over throws him. Last week he under threw this week he over throws. Gus is the most inaccurate long ball thrower I have seen in a while. Not only that Chambers made some huge plays running the ball including a TD that got called back because of a holding call. How can you say he is not hungry the guy is diving for balls completely outstreched trying to make up for a terrible pass. Did you see his one handed grab on the side line on a pass thrown way over his head looking very uncatchable. The reason the TE and RB are looking better stat wise and catch wise is cause they get little dump off passes that Gus can actually complete while Chambers is going long and Gus is a terrible qb who cant throw worth a **** down field. I wish we could cut fans like you from our team instead of players.

The Dolphins have the best WR and TE set in the NFL, IMO (Booker, Chambers, Boston, McMichael) . Just need somone more accurate to throw to these guys... I say leave someone that won't be too missed if he gts injured, like Wes or Minor

Hell no!!! Welker is about the only receiver we have that's worth anything at the moment. We need him to keep returning because it is awesome at it. We need the ball in Wes' hands as much as possible. Only good can come from it.

crazy statement. Did you see the catch he made? gus also overthrew him on several occasions. Did you see the reverse he ran in for a td that got called back? He is a playmaker who just needs to be more consistent. Get a qb that can be consistent and Chambers would improve even more.

Guys with long, loping strides don't usually make good return men. And I don't think Chambers is all that shifty really. He and Dante Hall don't have that in common.

I think that Welker does a good job at setting up blocks on the punt return, but for some reason and I don't know if it is him or the return called that he just runs straight up the middle into the backs of his blockers. How about a return right or left being called? I wouldn't be opposed at all at seeing Chambers return the kickoff. At least he would have a chance at catching it.

no CC does not need to become a return man. He needs to be dropped down to a #2 receiver and we either need to draft a true #1 WR or go after a big name in the off-season. No excuses next offseason for not picking up a big name QB or WR. We'll have the money to spend.

I'm starting to envision Welker as our #1 receiver................................

Yes I agree with you. And booker is a great 3. If we can get a qb, #1 wr, some defensive backs, and an o-line we will be good....i just realized thats a lot.

I wouldn't be opposed to CC returning kicks. I believe he did it during his rookie season and he did a GREAT job. I would like to see some positive results for him. Maybe if he was to return kicks and do something positive his confidence may build up and his WR play in turn may also improve. At this point CC needs as much help improving his WR performance as he can get.
