Make sure to click the PBP link. More good stuff on Chambers. :)Phinz1972 said:Thanks Nub, great read.
It's great to see Chambers isn't trying to blame the problem elsewhere, he knows what needs to be done on his part and he will get it done.

Agreed Bro! None of our receivers went after the ball like there job depended on it! If our starting three stuggle tomorrow, I am for getting Welker, and Gilmore more touches! This will send a clear signal that there play must improve or they willl lose playing time! Tough Love I tell you!alb0bo said:He would be so much better if he just fought for the ball - He and Boston was so pathetic in the jets game tring to catch the ball into their bodie instead of going high and getting the ball. To throws down field I saw the same thing- I like Chambers and Boston but they need to fight for it. I am tired of hearing how good he is - lets step to the plate buddy - you are paid to fight for those
"This year it feels different because the guys upstairs know what they're doing," Chambers says.
"He's got to be aggressive towards the ball," McDuffie says. "You look at some of the other receivers in the league. Their quarterbacks might not be the best, but they make the most of it. What Chris has to do is make plays when given the opportunity, and he gets a lot of opportunities. He's not always going to be open, it's not always going to be a perfect throw, but no matter what, you've got to take advantage of all of them."

I really believe that hit affected the way he plays. Before that night in Denver, he was an absolute BEAST.. in fact, I remember him carving up the Patriots for 140+ yards in his rookie campaign.
Before that hit, he attacked the ball. He went after it like he owned it, something that all top echelon recievers in this league do. I just haven't seen that from him after that vicious hit.
I really hope I'm wrong.
Bingo! You hit it right on the head! He doesn't go up and go after it with his hands!:)alb0bo said:I totally agree- other that a spectacular cacth now and then he doesn't have the fight he should for the ball- he tries to catch into his body to much instead of extending his long arms and his great leaping ability.
Muck said:Jimmy Cefalo said today that he thinks Chambers' problem is that he tries too hard to be perfect. That he pushes himself so hard to do things absolutely right that he isn't letting his natural ability take over. He said that the offenses and types of quarterbacks he's had in the past have a lot to do with his past issues. But right now, it's on him.
Cefalo said that Chambers runs exceptional routes and that he's as talented as any of the other big names out there. He just has to overcome this obstacle in his mind.
