All this talk about Chambers in the slot- sounds good but:

Why wasn't it done already? Was the coaching staff too incompetent to make such an obvious, positive move?

Didn't Chambers get his bell rung by Denver Safety Kenoy Kennedy a few years ago and then have a problem with slot play/over the mddle routes? Yet another problem with CC.....

doesnt make much sense to me

No, what I'm suggesting is that maybe Chambers isn't such an obvious solution for the slot WR position as some people portray him to be.

I propose we "fix" Chambers lack of production by trading him to another team and letting them worry about it.

Pretty much, yes. We've had two adaptive OCs in the last seven years: Chan Gailey and Scott Linehan. Otherwise, the offensive coordinating has not been done with the goal of adapting the system to the players; it has been done with the goal of adapting the players to the system.

The fact that Chambers' best performances have come from the slot is reason enough to put him back there.

I have to agree with that. Jerry Porter straight up has a nice ring to it.

Yet another CC thread. I think thats the 5th one today.
No, the coaching staff isnt incompetent, only half the people in Finnheaven who think they know what they are talking about.
CC is a WR who can get double teamed and draws safety coverage. Although I do agree with some, that a trade for a HIGH draft pick is something we should consider, he needs someone to get him the ball. He makes clutch catches and is a valuable WR.

Playing CC in the slot should only be considered as a change of pace to confuse Defenses, not as a "all the time thing"

The coaches know what they are doing.

Go Phins.

Yeah let's replace an underachiever with a pretty good attitude, with an underachiever that has one of the worst attitudes in football.

Nah, don't need porter that's just replacing one problem with another  Draft Ginn to replace Chambers or maybe Bowe in the second if they decide to make a move up to try and get Quinn.

that was a cheap helmet to helmet shot. chambers second year and randy's first...randy got in kennedys face, it was awesome

how about fixing his lack of production by getting him a QB that can actually pass accurately

They've been trying that for the last 6 years, problem is no QB can pass accurately to a reciever that is never open!

Exactly. Maybe getting a new start out of the pit of despair know as Oakland would be a big help. Too bad that you were fooled by your own sarcasm. Your words: "underachiever with a pretty good attitude." Not exactly the kind of guy that I would want as a playmaker. I'll roll the bones with Porter, and hope that the move suits him well.
