Probably the guy that I am most dissapointed in tonight was chambers. It's too early to tell but he still IMO is not doing enough to stretch the field and being physical enough. We finally have a qb that throws a great deep ball and chambers didn't even show up until the second quarter.

Chambers can make the highlight catches with the best of them but until he proves to me that he can be a consistent number one guys...the owens and johnsons of the NFL, he will always be wasting potential IMO. There is no reason why he shouldn't have been dominating Ike Taylor (I think that was his name). Also where in hell was mcmichael? It's like one week these guys show up and the next they are nowhere to be found.

Sure he had great numbers last year but those will come. He needs to step it up and until he does, we will struggle in the passing game. Hell Welker was the stud tonight and he is nowhere near the kind of reciever that chambers can be. I just wish that chambers would take it upon himself to become the guy that he should. Hopefully he will make me change my mind in the next few games..but really he has to step his game up. Alot of our success will depend on it.

I was disappointed with Chambers in the first half, but I do recall a play in the second quarter where he had Ike Taylor beat for a sure TD and Daunte Culpepper terribly underthrew the ball. There was another play, which was Pep's first INT pass, where Chambers was completely uncovered - I think Pep should've pump faked or waited for Troy to pick Chambers up, knowing that he'd beat him 1-on-1 anyways.

Although he started off extremely slow last year, I'm more worried about the terrible play calling than Chris Chambers. We didn't really attempt to involve him in the offense until midway through the third quarter. That's just a horrible job by the OC. Let's give Pep & Chambers some time though..

Every WR drops passes from time to time. But I do agree that Chambers needs to be more physical and fight for the ball. Too often he just stops and tries to let the ball come to him when he needs to come back and be physical to fight for the ball in the air.

Look Chambers had a monster year in 05....He is going to be a marked man from this point forward....No more easy receptions for him because he has earned that respect....He is still a great receiver....

I was thinking the same thing on that play that Troy picked the ball off. Had DC thrown that ball deep, Chambers probably would have gone for six. Chambers is my favorite wideout don't get me wrong, but I still think he leaves alot on the table at times. Guys like owens and johnson create their own opportunities and that is where I think the knock is on chambers. He will make some of the best catches I have ever seen but he will let a defender shut him down at times. I have faith in him but would like to see him peform better as I think he could be just as good as owens/johnson.

yes Indeeed

Get over the negative chambers/daunte thread. **** man we didnt execute in the 4th plain and simple. Both offense and defense.

[mod] don't spell out curse words [/mod]

dominizzo... perennial pro bowler has a sure touchdown bounce right off his facemask? perennial pro bowler is very STUCK UP ( yes its true).. when u see balls that are underthrown to him he looks so disgusted, he gives up on the pass and doesnt make any effort to get back to it or stop the defender from making an interception.. and do u even kno what the word perennial means bro? hes been a pro bowler ONCE in his career...

That is more on par with what I am talking about. A few of them are on culpepper tonight too. That fade route into the endzone that was almost picked should have been an easy 6 and also the ball that chambers let smack him in the face should have been an easy 6 too. I realize though that coming from the limp arm of fiedler and crappy play of feeley that DC balls are probably coming in like rockets...but if you can get your hands on it..you gotta make the catch.

I have done my fair share of Chambers defending. But tonight I do feel slightly dissapointed that he seemed to dissapear for most of the game. I was hoping we were past the inconsistency and he would become a always there on third down reciever like Hines Ward or Chad Johnson.

Here's hoping his growth comes along with Daunte b/c i don't think I can put up with another on again off again season. At least not as the #1 receiver.

Like this is anything new with chambers. Is he a good reciever, YES. Does he leave some talent on the table..YES! While he does drop some passes my problems have never been with his catching ability. It has been with his inability to dominate DB's that he should. Did we lose on his account tonight? Hell no. What I am saying though is that he needs to step up his play and become more physical.
