I started this thread a while ago, and thought you guys would like to see an update on Chris Chamber’s stats compared to some of the other WRs drafted in 2001 Draft.

Chambers still has more touchdown catches than any other WR listed below, and with the exception of Chad Johnson still has more receiving yards as well. Looking back at the starting quarterbacks he has had, I think his stats are outstanding, and should only get better now that Culpepper is our QB.

Chris Chambers - 4596 yards and 39 td’s 2nd round #52 overall

Chad Johnson -5556 yards and 34 td’s 2nd round #36 overall

Reggie Wayne -4164 yards and 28 td’s 1st round #30 overall

Santana Moss – 3899 and 28 td’s 1st round #16 overall

Koren Robinson -3514 yards and 13 td’s 1st round #9 overall

Rod Gardner - 3148 yards and 23 td’s 1st round #15 overall

Steve Smith - 3759 and 22 td’s 3rd round #70 overall

Quincy Morgan - 2466 yards and 17 td’s 2nd round #33 overall

David Terrell – 1602 yards and 9 td’s 1st round #8 overall

Robert Ferguson - 1546 and 11 td’s 2nd round #41 overall

Freddie Mitchell – 1263 yards and 5 td’s 1st round #25 overall

Very impressive, especially considering the QB play he's had. Some strong wideouts in the 2001 draft.

haha nice, the first rounders are interesting, terrell didnt sign with anyone this year right?

look at his drop stats, it may tell a different story
hes been on a team with no real #2 most of his carrear.. and a couple of years without any running game...
i love chris and all, but he is not in the same league as chad johnson
also wayne has never been the #1 receiver and he has still put up signifcant numbers... with a 1000 yard RB every year

1-Chad Johnson has never had a dominate #2 reciever either, and Carson Palmer as a QB for a little over a season now

2- Chambers has had a 1000 yard rusher as well, Ricky Williams, and last year 2 900 yard rushers

3- Stokley also had a 1000 yard season with Manning....not to say Wayne isnt good but IMO he is no chambers

*sigh* You leave me speechless...

That is a mighty good class of WRs. Chambers is only to Chad Johnson IMO, but this year should elevate himself into the same class as Chad.

P.S Is any one else disapointed in the new TD celebration rules? I'm going to miss seeing Chad entertain when he gets in the endzone.

EDIT: My bad, I left of Steve Smith who at this point is more elite than Chambers.

No I never was a fan of that kind of showboating. I would rather watch the PAT team run onto the feild than watch a football player dance around the endzone.

I am really disappointed, very stupid rule. Players should be free to celebrate the way they want

Steve Smith
Chad Johnson
Chris Chambers
Reggie Wayne
Santana Moss

is how i'd stack them at this point

Chambers had a productive rookie year which puts him ahead of most WRs but he's not close to Chad Johnson and ranking the players above I'd go:

1. Johnson
2. Smith
3. Moss
4. Chambers
5. Wayne

Chambers may have some better #s but he never was a big time WR until last year while Chad and Smith have been for years, Moss has had 2 big years and Wayne has had 2 big years. Don't give me the QB excuse either b/c Chad never had a great QB until last year, Smith had Rodney peete and Chris Weinke his first couple of years, in Moss' breakout season of '02 he had 50 yr Vinny then Chad coming off a broken wrist then last year had brunell, Wayne obviously has has had Manning.
