Short and sweet...The Dolphins cannot be serious with this one.

Where did you hear the Dolphins were interested in him?

There has been some talk around Chan, I think I read somewhere that JT and ZT were lobbing for him.

It could be worse though .... Deion Sanders? :sidelol:

its on the front page of this site.

And hes a decent offensive mind. He won 11, 10, games a season with Jay Fiedler at QB and lamar smith at RB.

(Side note: Nobdy tell me the defense won those games. We had an even better defense this year then those years and we only won 6 games.)

I dont want Gailey. I want Cameron. But i will make an arguement for the guy, because he gets a lot of crap on this site.

Chan Gailey would be an excellent hire. Many years experience in Pro & College. Head Coach of the Cowboys - 18-14 and went to the playoffs both years. Was Wannstedt's offensive coordinator for the Dolphins when we won 11 games in 2000 aand 10 in 2001. Despite not having much to workwith, Gailey got the most out of what he had, and that's what you look for in a coach. Gailey left to take the Head Coaching job at Georgia tech and has taken that program from a doormat to a "bowl" every year. Chan is straightforward and a very open guy unlike the other past 3 guys. He has always been a winner and would be an asset to this team. :dolphins:

Cameron is the "shiny new model' car but in reality he's not as well rounded as Chan and his stint as head coach of Indiana was 18-37. If you do a side by side comparison of Chan vs Cam - Chan is more impressive.

Whens the last time you ever heard of Indiana in a bowl game? Whens the last time you heard of a Top recruit going to Indiana?

Even the late great Dale Earnhart couldn't win the indy 500 in a caddillac if you catch my drift...

Believe me, I don't want Cam Cameron either. This guy is blessed with one of the best RBs in NFL history, an all-world TE, and a fantastic offensive line. He also had Drew Brees and now has Phillip Rivers. Brees never had a season like he has had this year in N.O. under Cameron. In addition, Cameron ran one of the most conservative offenses going until he was finally forced to start allowing Rivers to take a little control of the offense this season. I don't Cameron translating well with the Dolphins.

Gailey is a good guy, no question. I just don't see him as the type of guy that is going to help turn this franchise around.

First off ^no one can be seen as the guy whose gonna turn the franchise around, its too heavy of a burden to place on one man.

As far as cameron is concerned however, Im sorry but all those players from the same offense being so good is actually proof itself that hes a great offensive coach. LT is LT, i'll give you him. But then how do you explain Micheal Turner, who is also a guy who makes big things happen when he gets the ball? You cant sit back and tell me that all these players just make themselves great. The coordinator is the one who puts them in situations to succeed.

Thats why i think Cameron would be perfect for miami. Whose to say he couldn't make a stud out of McMicheal, Chambers, Brown, or Culpepper/our draft pick/ Lemon (he's worked with lemon before)

Michael Turner makes things happen because he is solid RB (could be a starter for about 20 teams) and because he gets his carries running behind an awesome offensive line. Having an offensive line to bust open holes for LT, give an inexperienced QB like Rivers time to pick out Antonio Gates, etc is a beautiful thing. It is also a thing that the Dolphins do not have.

Do you think turning around the Dolphins would be too big a burden for Cowher, Parcells, Holmgren, Belichek, Andy Reid???? It can be done. We just need the right guy.

And yet you'd be surprised to know that the best Miami offense since Shula retired was run in Gailey's time here. CK's got a really good write up in the VIP. The guy only has like 2 losing seasons in 24 years of head coaching.

Guess Schiani taking Rutgers from arguably the worst team in college football to a BCS win couldn't happen. Point being, special coaches do extraordinary jobs. Cameron has demonstrated that he is not special. Would he be decent? Maybe. But nothing he has done without number 21 has been great and he's mostly been mediocre at best and pathetic at worst. If he's hired, I hope I'm wrong about it!!!
