So what do you guys think the chances are that things get much worse before they get any better? I know it's hard to say right now but if Bowles or Mccoy end up the HC and we roll with Matt Moore at QB next year I could really see the Phins having a worse season next year than this year. I know Moore played decent last season, but he was nothing special by any means and I expect the defense to take a bit of a drop with the loss of Nolan. I hope I'm wrong and the next HC turns out to be a mastermind, but I just have a sinking feeling already. I will root for and continue to be a huge Dolphins homer 365 days of the year no matter what but right now I'm afraid next season could get ugly.

Oh and btw... if Ireland is really the control freak that he appears to be and is keeping us from getting the best HC possible then how bad did Parcells really screw us for the long term? I mean ultimately it's Ross' fault now but man it's looking more and more like hiring PArcells was a huge mistake.

It gets worse? How do you know McCoy is that bad? You don't. How do you know Philbin will be great? You don't.

They are unproven commodities.

I lean towards getting worse. Haven't been too many promising things to make me think differently at this moment.

I agree, it always gets worse before it gets better.

I am willing to give Philibin his shot and roll with him for a bit to see what he can do and I am willing to bring Moore back as the starter. We are not in a position to get the QB of the future in this draft. If it gets worse before it gets better we will have a higher draft spot next year for Landry Jones or Matt Barkley.

I don't know sir, and I never said that I did. I have a feeling that the 2012 season will be worse for Miami than 2011 but do I know that as if it were a fact? Absolutely not, it's just a feeling and nothing more and to be honest it's not based on much. I'd also be happy as hell if I was wrong and Miami improved next season.

"Those of you that think you know what will happen, you don't know. And how do I know you don't know? Because I don't know, and you don't have some kind of psychic powers that I don't have"

It is all about QB play. The Fins won this year when Moore played well. The Fins won in 2008 when Pennington played VERY well.

In the end, I do not have an issue with the three finalists...

Have you seen the schedule? It will get better.

This team has talent and I have been told over the past year that Sparano was a big reason why this team lost games. He is gone now, so shouldn't it just naturally get better?

Seriously though, no one knows what kind of head coach Mike McCoy, Joe Philbin or even Todd Bowles will be. No one knows that they will fail, and no one knows that they will be the next Don Shula. They are unknowns and we just have to hope whomever they hire is the next Tomlin, Schwartz or McCarthy and not the next Cameron or Spagnuolo. The fact they have a new head coach and direction should offer hope for the future and the schedule we play next year gives this team a chance.

I just hope the local fan base is smart enough to have hope and not to spend the season booing and actively rooting against the team like they did this past season. Remember this is the same fanbase that chanted "We want Orton" at a free practice at the stadium just after they signed Matt Moore. Or complained about the Daboll hiring and said the offense wouldn't improve. Or bashed the front office for trading for Reggie Bush, only to see him rush for over 1,000 yards. All I am saying is give it a chance, it is a fresh start try and support them even just a little.

we'll be right back here a year from now; looking for a GM, a coach, with the 1st pick, little cap space and asking the owner to get the hell out.

sorry, I got no confidence.

I will rally around any of the three guys.

I said from the start I wanted Billick, Fisher, Sherman, Bowles, Philbin and Zimmer to be interviewed. Later, I was turned on to McCoy a bit ago and loved the possibility of him becoming the HC...then Miami went to interview him. I loved it.

Therefore, 4 of my original 6 were interviewed and my late stage entry is now seriously being considered...I have no issues with what is happening at this point...the Fisher situation notwithstanding.

Once Philbin, McCoy or Bowles is hired, the FO and fan base must give the guy a chance to win. Demonstrate patience that will lead to continuity within the organization.

Alright Nubs...This got me feeling better this morning, especially considering the "lackluster" final three coaching candidates. However, I could care less about the current perception, and just want a winning coach / organization. Hopefully we catch a little lightning in a bottle with this hire and are set for years.

You realize in almost all of the losses this year the defense was the one who blew the game right?

I'd say the chances of getting any worse are about as slim as a captain bailing from a luxury ocean liner while there are still passengers aboard

i don't know about worse but given where we are and what we have right now today you can go ahead and put me down for us having a top 12 pick in 2013...

Brady owns this Division. I would like to think we can be in play for a wildcard next year, but smart money says otherwise.

If we land Manning in free agency all bets are off................we have a legitimate shot at winning it all.

Bringing in Billick for AT LEAST an interview would get me excited again, but I know Ross doesn't care for him too much. Just wish they could put their issues behind them and move forward.
