I listened to a podcast which suggested tge WR core suited Chan Gaileys system which seems logical. However which potential rookie QB does his system also suit? Ha he ever developed a QB?

Could Hurts be a realistic potential draft choice?

As far as I remember Chan Gailey is a two wide, pound the rock, throw off play action coordinator. Now, any quarterback can play in that system, but preferably must have big arm to throw to far boundary from the pocket. Stand in the pocket a little bit.
Now, Chan likes them to have a bit of mobility to escape and roll as well.
I think Herbert fits best from this class.

I think it's about simplifying things. So far Flo and his staff seem pretty good at taking new players , getting them in here and getting something out of them. The NE system we were running is very complex. I think he's looking for a more seamless transition for young QB's and WR's.

Interesting. Would that suit Love? Has he ever developed a QB? His Caldwell returning?

I was thinking our last system would best suit veteran QB’s and we’ve got a good depth of WR’s so makes sense to change things to suit them. The only position we don’t need any new players as either starters or depth. I think the only concern would be his ability to develop a QB. I wonder if we’ll keep our QB coach?

I keep reading this about developing a QB. That's what the QB coach does and we have a good one.

I suppose he could potentially get a major say in who we draft and his development before taking over from Gailey after learning for a year or two

Your qb description sounds like Rosen
I'm not a Rosen Homer, but I'm intrigued about what he would do in Chan's system.
On the flip side, Chan may be thinking right now about what he and Rosen could do together.
It's good to have options with a new OC.
Fitz, Rosen and the new guy. We could build a great line if we did not go QB until 2,3rd round. I believe in the "Who fits best" selection more these days than the "Who's in the first round" pick.
