Woke up this morning in good spirits despite the loss yesterday. I just told myself it's only 2 games don't panic. There is still a chance this team can make a quick turnaround. I turned to ESPN after a quick look at the local news and weather before I head off to work this morning. I watched how some of the other teams won and the success they had passing and defending.

Then I started thinking about Miami's "system" and how I keep reading about how detailed and complex it is. So I started to think maybe the Saban system is just too difficult. I know these guys are professionals and I'm not saying anyone is slow, but maybe Nick should simplify it a bit and gradually implement his schemes as time goes on so that it's easier to digest. If it's so complex maybe it just too much to take at one time and should be toned down a little to keep them from thinking too much out there. Well it's just a thought anyway. What do you guys think needs to be changed? Please try to think positive with your response. I'm off to my 9 to 5 I'll check back in tonight see what my fellow Dolfans think. Later

i really like the postiveness, i also really think that we can change this team around like you said its only two games its not like we are in a major hole i mean yea our confidence and hopes have been shaken up but not that much statisiticaly in the standings and if you want to be as optomistic as i am miami still has a good chance of being 2-2 in the next 2 weeks and NE if you have seen their scheadule have to play denver and the bengals so they could very easily be 2-2 and when we meet them for the first time could be for the division lead......anyways i really think we need to adjust the offensive play calling, it just hasnt been that smart and reasonable, the offense needs a vocal leader to stand up and help dictate whats going on

There were a few positives I agree but even if we win the next two games we lose, they will say we just beat 2 teams even worse then us. Might help them with their confidence but we will get no respect untill we can beat a New England, or a Chicago, or even the Jerks. If we lose sunday we will be the laughing stock of the league. I hope if Daunte blows once again that Saban atleast gives Joey a shot cause if Daunte sucks against the Titans then we would have nothing to lose if we gave Joey a shot. Im not bashing my team but I am a realest, this team needs help and needs it now. If it were me I would start by telling Mularky to start letting Daunte throwing the damn ball dow the field more. If we wanted a dink and dunk QB we could have gotten Fiedler back and saved alot of money.

Nothing needs to be changed scheme wise (maybe a couple different play calls here and there were questionable)

Plain and Simple what needs to happen if we hope to win games is the O-Line needs to block.

Im confident eventually they will gel as a unit, only question is when

The system shouldn't be too complicated. It's the same system he had in college. If college players can execute this system, then established NFL players shouldn't have a problem either. The secondary is revamped, so they are all learning the system and trying to gel together. I'm not concerned yet, I think we are a better team than last year at this point in the season; but they have to turn this around very soon before it's too late.

My only concern is the offensive line. One game they can't run block, the next game they can't pass block. I understand the secondary going through some growing pains since they are mostly new players, but the offensive line should NOT be looking this bad with most of it's starters back for a second year in the same system with Hudson Houck. :fire:

We have new players on offense learning a new system. One of those players is coming off a major injury. It took Vick 3 years to have a comfort level with his new offense yet we expect Culpepper to come in and be perfect. We need to give him some games to shake off the rust and get a feel for the weapons he has.

We have new defensive players learning the system as well as some injured starters. The D will gel and get better. Jason Allen will probably be a starter by mid year.

Changes take time so I'm not worried.

This team will peak late in the year and that is exactly what we want.

Didn't one of the Pats teams that won a Super Bowl start 0-3 or badly anyway?

Patience is the key....

The offensive line should not be as bad as it had been but has been changed from the line Saban ended with last year. Going into the season the focus with regards to the O-line was depth and a quality starter at left tackle if I'm not mistaken. Why make the changes they did if that unit was coming together at the end the season last year? Ok, you say keep the system as is, then the problem appears to be an inconsistant lineup. I realize there are circumstances that are beyond Saban's control like injuries, but keep those that did well in that system in the same position. I'm not saying Lance Schulters was a great find but he seemed to get it. Also, why move Hadnot to center when he played so well at guard? See what I'm getting at?

Great post Dolfn. I woke up with a positive attitude despite yesterday's horrible game. We'll get it turned around, just wait and see.

Who cares if its the scheme or the players? It is what it is and what it is is 0-2. When you've only played two games and you've lost both of them that pretty much makes you a team of losers.

You give up much too easily TampaFinsFan, the idea of this post is to give an opinion on what needs to be done to turn the losing around and all you can say is they're a "team of losers"? I'm sick of the losing to but refuse to call it a year after 2 loses this early in the season. NOTHING is impossible so if you want to quit on them that's your business but do it on your own thread. :shakeno:
