This thread is inspired by the recent one asking which moment in Dolphins history you'd change--

What if you could choose the result of 5 games in all of the franchise's history? How would you do it? Also keep in mind that you can choose the results of hypothetical games as well. So, if you wanted the 2002 team to
win the Super Bowl that year, you could have them beat NE in the final game of the year (game 1), have them win in the wild card round (game 2), have them win in the divisional round (game 3), have them win in the AFC championship (game 4), and finally, have them win in the Super Bowl that year (game 5).

This is the way I'd do it:

Have the Dolphins win Super Bowl XIX in 1985, making it the crowning jewel in what would go down as the best season for a QB ever (game 1).

Have the Dolphins beat NE in the Orange Bowl in the AFC championship in January of 1986 (game 2).

Have the Dolphins beat the Bears in Super Bowl XX-- back to back rings for Marino, and a fourth championship for Shula (game 3).

Have the Dolphins beat the Bills in the AFC championship in Miami in January of 1993 (game 4).

Have the Dolphins win Super Bowl XXVII-- three rings for Marino, five rings for Shula, and a great memory for me and my dad in what turned out to be the final Dolphins' season he'd witness before his passing.

I think we have to move on from Marino and Shula, the last 17 years of mediocrity and make a new history.

It's sad that we'd have to go that far back to get to a point that we were close enough to the Super Bowl that only a game or two would matter.

we have been mediocre since 1999. that means kids' ,about 16 or under , impressions of Miami is that they have always sucked

I'd take a win over those sorry ass Jets a few years back to get into the playoffs.

That 1992 season is when I really started to become a diehard. The loss at home to Buffalo in the AFC Championship sucked, but I had no idea how bad it sucked. I figured we'd be back in that spot in no time. Here we are almost 25 years later and nothing. I mean, we had the AFC Championship game AT HOME. I really had no idea how huge that was at the time. I'd definitely like to change the outcome of that game. It wasn't even close.
