Canning crowders play style reminds me of brian cox...

He attacks the defense (mostly) with reckless abandon and throws his body around like a madman. They both bring intesity like no other, they both look to remove players from the other side of the field (I mean remove them from the game), they both unfortunately get caught up in the intensity and sometimes miss important tackles.

Channing is AWESOME, he will be a future star in the league. I just hope he is more coachable than brian cox was. I loved watching brian cox play, he was always looking to take someones head off, but I remember sometimes he would hit a running back strait on, full body lay out, head down driving into apponent. I'm sure it hurt like hell, but every once in a while a RB would recover from the hit and bust off a huge gain.

Thought???

Bryan Cox was rather productive when he was in Miami. He always had around 100 tackles and over 7 sacks per season. In 1992, he had like 12 sacks. I do not think he did that well when he left Miami. He did alright in Chicago, but his numbers, and his health, got worse when he moved the Jets, the Pats and the Saints. Shula was really smart to bring him in as an undrafted agent out of Western Illinois.

For Channing to be one of the top Lb's in the league he has to produce more turnovers. One turnover a year will not do it.

I couldn't agree more. He was exciting to watch, and an all around team motivator. Yes, we did get rid of him at the right time too...

No biggie, but Cox was a 5th round pick...

He had that funky board coming off his shoulder pads against the back of his helmet.

I heard him say it was to make his head immobile so he could use it as a battering ram and punish his opponents.

Crowder does remind me of Cox...I think cause the both play rather upright. Crowder does seem to be a lot more mobile in his hips.
Wasn't Cox at the end of his contract with the fins?... I think he signed for a whole lot more money with the Bears.
I remember being in Chicago for the Bears vs Dolphins game watching pregame warm-ups, for a preseason game (Jimmy Johnson's first year)....Cox running around the perimeter of the field with his hemet on backwards....He sought out Stoyanovich, and game him a hug... and Marino gettin a chuckle out of Cox.

I'm hoping Crowder will have as long and as productive a career in Miami as ZT. He has the potential to be awesome.

What a pair of LB's to learn from now, huh? ZT & JP. I can't wait to see that trio in action. Should be one heck of a show.
